Yes she is really rude. I was dancing for a film shes in ('The Cabin') which is being filmed in Dublin. Shes staring with Steven Brand and the difference between how they act towards those around them is completely different! He was messing about all day, making all the extras laugh, and took the time to ask me and my uncle about our dancing and seemed really interested. Lea on the other hand acted like my uncle, who had taught her the steps, wasn't there and like she knew everything. Must say though, her shoes were amazing.

I met her at a party and she was incredibly rude, as was her husband, despite the fact that we were both guests of a mutual friend at the mutual friend's house!!
I have never heard anyone say she is nice & now I believe it all.
        It was unbelievable.

I met her at the Hollywood Show in Burbank in 2009, and she was very sweet. She signed my photo of my DeLorean Time Machine Replica, and even commented to Christopher Lloyd as to how accurate it looked. She didn't have to do that.
          Anyway, she was very nice.

Hey, ryderdvs, I believe that I may have been standing next to you when you had that photo signed at the Hollywood Show (was it April, 2009?). I recall a photo of the DeLorean Time Machine, and it was an excellent replica. And yes, Lea was exceptionally cordial and nice and friendly.
Frankly, I'm puzzled by the posters who have found Lea rude. I have met Lea on several occasions and I must say that I have never met anyone nicer. Not just the nicest celebrity, but the nicest person overall.
Lea is a true gem, very family oriented, and she has a warm personality and a great sense of humor. And very generous in her charitable and philanthropic work. And if you read articles and interviews with Lea's co-stars, there is a constant theme. Lea gets along with everyone, Lea serves as a peacemaker and intermediary on the set, and in the final analysis, everyone truly seems to enjoy working with Lea. Farrah Fawcett, Kiefer Sutherland, Amy Pietz, et. al., always described Lea in glowing terms.
It is diffda0icult to argue with the "perceptions" of other people. Some little thing may have struck someone as rude, and I cannot comment on situations where a person might say "you had to be there." But I can only say that I have never seen any rude behavior by Lea, and quite honestly, it is hard for me to even imagine it. Perhaps a misunderstanding? But it is worth repeating Warren Littlefield's comment about Lea:
"Men love her. Women love her. My kids love her. Who's left?"

It gets a little tiring for so many people to say "oh, she was nice to me, it can't be possible she wasn't to you." My only conclusion coming out of everything written here is she seems to prone to major mood swings. See the difference here? I'm not trying to say anyone's full of crap, and none of the rest of you are in any better position to take a meeting as the be-all end-all of a person's character.
Also what is this "bad day" crap? A bad day might mean you don't deal with people, but from what some people have said it's gone far beyond that. And for any normal person, taking out your bad day on others isn't something to be defended, it's cause to say "get off it."

                to the OP:
What did you expect? Of course, she's may not be the "down to earth, friendly person" you admire on screen. However, what should SHE expect by being at a public event? I agree she should had acknowledged you; you met at her at an event, not the 7-11. Actors don't necessarily have the same appreication for us as we do for them. It depends on the actor.
These stars want it both ways sometimes.

I met her this past Saturday at a convention and she is one of the nicest people I have met. I got her autograph and she flirted with me
I paid for a professional photoshoot with her that the convention organisers offer and she remembered me from when I got her autograph earlier. She squeeled in excitement and welcomed me with open arms. In the picture that was taken she is hugging me
Baby, you make me wish i had three hands.

Should have just said "hi Lea, I loved your tits in All the Right Moves" :D, doubt she would have ignored that.

I totally disagree, I met her today, I work for US Airways and I checked her and her daughter in, she was super nice to us, along with her daughter being super nice, they complimented my tattoo and Lea even gave one of my co-workers a signed autographed photo. Everyone has their bad days, and she is no exception.

lea does not owe you a thing. get over it. too much hero worship is not a good thing. work on being the best person you can be and don't worry about how others react. expectations lead to disappointment.

                                    Sorry about your experience.
You have to understand though, for us, it's a movie experience that we hold dear to our hearts because of whatever reason, whether it's because it resonated with us for some reason, or because we were kids at the time we saw it and the movie was larger-than-life to us.
To her, it was a moment of many moments in her professional career. And even though she might have had some fun making the movie, it was like a job to her. And we might say, well it was a great job to be able to have, and that's true, but when you've been in acting all your life, those experiences still can get boiled down into just another day at the office.
Except for her, these few days at the office is sometimes all anyone ever remembers her for.
She's been acting for decades since then, but then people come up to her and still want to call her Lorraine, or act like Back To The Future was the only movie she ever did. It can grow old pretty fast.
Take a look at what Leonard Nimoy went through. He hated being remembered as Spock for a long, long time. He even wrote a book, "I Am Not Spock", trying to sort it out. It wasn't until much later, in his later years, that he came to grips with it and was able to accept it for what it was, and then wrote the subsequent book, "I Am Spock" after he had come to terms with it.
More than anything, I just wouldn't take it personally. You got to meet her, and got to at least speak to her, and that's about all you can hope for. It's not like she was going to become a best friend from a chance meeting at a convention or event. Just try to see it from her point of view and don't sweat it.
It wasn't about you or because of a failing of yours.
