There will never be anyone like him again, he was a one of a kind, talented, and from all accounts a really nice guy.
I love his movies, especially Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka and The Producers.
After my son saw Willy Wonka when he was little he walked around saying "I said good day sir" over and over. It was pretty funny.

He was so talented and so much of a part of movies I saw growing up, it hit me hard too. He made so many people so happy and you never saw bad press about him. He was unique and the world is less funny without him.
We have lost so many incredible people this year

Yea. Me too. I feel that I should have read his book a long time ago. I am still hurting.

He was one of the especially-talented actors who brought what they call 'heart' to his films. Not just a great actor, but a great actor who could portray great humanity and emotion.
My favorite example of this talent of his is 'The Frisco Kid.' If you haven't watched it yet, you MUST. It is a bit of a lig5b4htweight, silly comedy, but it is full of HEART.

And you are so right. He put so much heart and soul into his movies. You truly felt it. It's like Mel Brooks said when Gene passed "he blessed every film he did with "magic."

I think that's the best epitaph that Gene Wilder could have, and who better to give it than Mel Brooks?

You are not alone. I cried myself to sleep last night. He was part of my childhood.
