I have heard he's gay too. I know he is involved with a group in Fairfield Iowa of Trancendental Meditators. Actually they have their own city within the city called Vedic City.
Richard's actually listed in the phone book and I'd love to contact him because I only live 30 miles away. I feel its too intrusive to call his home, so I wish I could find an e-mail addy for him. Maybe I'll just write a letter. -

I fell in love with him as Tony in West Side Story. What a handsome face he had.
He was special. I'm watching The Longest Day now and was surprised to see him in it.
It's an interesting psychological phenomenon. -

I can't speak to the gay rumors but<<
Oh. That explains things. One of my major complaints with West Side Story (though I am a fan because I like so many other parts) is the casting of Richard Beymer who I thought was extremely effeminate in the movie. I had to look down during his "dancing down the street scene" because he sort of "leaped" so effeminately.
I have always wondered if it was just a matter of "wrong actor-wrong movie." Maybe I need to see another movie of his

Geeze!!! Why does everyone assume unmarried, childl5b4ess adults;especially those in Hollyweird are "gay?"
Whatever Richard's life situation is, I'm sure he's happy and I wish him the Best!
Guess what? I'm NOT married, have NO childrenAND I'm NOT gay! LOL -
