I fell in love with him as Tony in West Side Story. What a handsome face he had.
He was special. I'm watching The Longest Day now and was surprised to see him in it.
    It's an interesting psychological phenomenon.

Don't trust these 'contact celebrities'websites. They take you money, and provide absolutely nothing in return. Caveat emptor.

I can't speak to the gay rumors but<<
Oh. That explains things. One of my major complaints with West Side Story (though I am a fan because I like so many other parts) is the casting of Richard Beymer who I thought was extremely effeminate in the movie. I had to look down during his "dancing down the street scene" because he sort of "leaped" so effeminately.
I have always wondered if it was just a matter of "wrong actor-wrong movie." Maybe I need to see another movie of his

Just about everyone in Hollywood has had rumors spread that they were gay. Though it doesn't matter to me either way, I highly doubt he is.

Richard is alive and well. He spends some time on his farm in Iowa, which his parents willed to him. He never married and has kept his life private.

actually his birth date is wrong on several websites. he is 67 but will be turning 68 in 2007. and he has just finished writing a book entitled "imposter" that will be available on amazon.com starting july 16, 2007.

Well, this is very wonderful to hear that "Richard is alive and well. He spends some time on his farm in Iowa, which his parents willed to him."
Now, of course, it's very difficult to lose parents and other family members and pets, so Richard has my sympathy, as well.
But that is very wonderful to hear that he has been enjoying a very nice and happy, healthy and productive retirement far from Hollywood, which only stands to reason, so Richard deserves many accolades for his many fine performances on "Murder, She Wrote" and elsewhere, as any very nice, very sincere and very wonderful fan would certainly agree.
If Sheridan were here, he'd be appalled.
