She was and is amazingly beautiful. 5b4I mean, I probably but my money on Scarlett Johanssen, but Olivia's deffinately uniquely gorgeous. She's the only thing I liked in Romeo and Juliet, that piece of shee-@t crap excuse for a movie. She does a lot of forced-sounding crying in the second half of the move, and a lot of forced-sounding gasping and heavy breathing in the first half. I credit the poor direction by Zeffarelli, who went on to make a ton of way better films (the Jane Austin movie was my favorite). But back to Olivia. Yeah, really, really, hriggin hot! Those eyes. and that hair! drool okay I'll shut up.

I respect your opinion, but I have to say that I disagree with you! Romeo and Juliet was a remarkable film, all the actors were amazing. This film turned me on to Shakesphere! Up until then, I had a hard time sitting through a Shakesphere film, especially since 40 year old actors were traditionally cast to play the roles of 16 year olds! Most still did not capture the true souls of Romeo and Juliet, experienced or not.
Yes, Olivia was and still is one of the beautiful people, not to mention talented. Beauty however, can't assure a trouble free life. She has had a great career and raised a family, overcome personal difficulties, but no one gets out of this life without trials to overcome. She has always been a favorite of mine. She is above all the hype of a superstar. You go girl! Love ya!

The reason she was probably not in more films was linked to her bout with agorophobia, which I've heard can be very serious. People with this affliction don't want to leave their homes for anywhere from days to years. The fact that she could conquer that and move on with her career AND continue acting is quite the testament to her as a person!
Actually,I wouldn't go so far as to say two of your examples of bad acting are quite accurate. Heather Graham and Keanu Reeves are pliable actors with the right scripts and projects, but they're not nearly as versatile as many Hollywood casting agents and studio execs believe they are.

Scarlett does not hold a candle to Olivia in any way! Olivia is much more talented and certainly much more beautiful. Please do not mention them in the same breath again, it just isn't fair to Olivia!!

Olivia was only about 15 or 16 at the time she made Romeo and Juliet.
(Actual Juliet was supposed to be almost 14.)

She is very very beautiful. I think her, Monica Belucci and Amelia Warner are all stunning. She's one of those rare ladies that actually stun me with their beauty. Rarely does that ever happen. Actually now that I think about it Jennifer Connelly also had that effect.

Olivia Hussey is sooo so incredibly gorgeous and I would certainly nominate her for most beautiful woman ever!
I think Scarlet Johansen is unique and very beautiful but does not compare to Olivia!!!
The most beautiful young actress today I think is Keira Knightley. She's a different kind of beauty than Olivia Hussey, don't think I can compare but I think she is just as gorgeous. I think she would look so good with Jude Law, THE most beautiful actor.

Aha! Now I understand why I have such ridiculously high standards when it comes to which women I find attractive! This girl was my first crush as a kid and twenty years later I still find her irresistable.

Not to be cliche but beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. I just finished watching Zeffirelli's "Romeo and Juliet" tonight, having not seen it since high school (some of you weren't even a gleam in your mamas' eyes yet!) and Olivia was not only a beauty then but she still is. Scarlett Johansson has a totally different sort of beauty to her that, IMO, is no less than Olivia's. Some people think Paris Hilton or Gwenyth Paltrow are beautiful, but to me neither one is at all, though that's in part also to their attitudes: Paris is just a skinny, brainless, spoiled rotten twit and Gwen's just totally conceited and takes herself much too seriously (and nevermind that she named her kid Apple!).
As a teenager you might have one or two major ideals of beauty but the older you get the more you appreciate the physical differences in women and don't expect them all to be Playboy centerfolds anymore. It seems more common that men "age well", becoming more sophisticated looking with age, but many women just go through various stages of beauty throughout their lifetimes, so they may be a cute little girl, beautiful as a teenager up to their 30s or so and then develop a certain other kind of beauty into their 40s or so. Some women like that are Teri Hatcher and the aforementioned Monica Belluci, whom I thought was still in her early 30s till I found out otherwise some weeks ago.

Indeed, Olivia Hussey is absolutely stunning. I saw her in 1354Romeo and Juliet both in high school and on television (plus in a recent special on horror movie moments), and she was and remains beautiful beyond imagination.
Ever heard that song "Brick House?" Guess what Olivia Hussey's measurements are? I rest my case.
(A caveat: I'm not sure if the information's reliable; it comes from the mini-biography on this site, which in turn says the measurements came from Celebrity Sleuth magazine)

"Unfathomable" is exactly the word to describe Olivia's face. I could look at her face for hours. There is an essence of purity in her beauty.
