If it's true about no one wanting to know her after Spielberg, then that is just horrible. She's a fabulous talent, and I adore her. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

She is far from having an unsuccessful career, not only has she done a number of film that were successful back in the day. She always remained loyal to the theatre even after she made a name for herself in DePalma's/Streisand's work. She won an Obie award i believe (the off-Broadway award?) and praised time and time again every time she steps on the stage. She was even an icon for her beauty and intelligence in the 80's I guess the $100 million didn't hurt either

She's always been more interested in being an ACTRESS rather than a STAR. That's just her. I do think she had/has star quality but it's just not something she's interested in. She's doing pretty well as a character actress now in her 50s.

I don't think it's a what happened moment, she's talented and worked pretty steadily in the 80s and 90s. I was more surprised that she didn't do a lot in the 70s only three films two of which are Carrie (her theatrical debut) and The Fury, two of my favorite guilty pleasures! with her stunningly good looks you'd think she would have been working more during that decade.
