Well damn. Looking at one of my favorite movies 111cand then followed the links to the actors and found out he is dead. And 9 freaking years ago too! This sucks. But as was said we can always see him in Blade Runner. And many others for that matter but Blade Runner is where I'll think of him.

He was the ultimate bad guy in all those sci-fi flicks I've seen as a kid. Then even more movies with him, always around doing bad things; he was a scary one for me all those years. Then of course Blade Runner, as I have only seen it recently for the first time (not counting when I was around 5, I couldn't understand a thing about the movie). It's such a shame he died, he is an icon like very few actors nowadays.
Rest in peace Brion.
I salute you.

I'm shocked and saddened to learn he passed way. I just watched him in "Pterodactyl Woman From Beverly Hiills" (trust me, it's a terrific film) and thought I'd check into what he's done lately. He was a great character actor who brought a lot of nuance to his roles. He made a lot of B-movies, but he delivered top-notch performances.
It's amazing how the deaths of "under the radar" actors like Brion James go largely unnoticed, even with the Internet, until you seek out information on them. -

I just found out about his passing just now, I've just finished watching The Player(he plays the studio boss) and I was very suprised. Looking at his resume he had been very busy up untill his death with one title only being released comparitevly recently. Also I'd point out that his height wouldn't have had much relevance to suffering a heart attack, coronary disease is the biggest killer of men in there fifties, well in the UK at least, I'm sure it's a similiar story in America.

Crazy how we're all in the same boat. I just watched Cherry 2000 on Encore this morning (never thought I'd ever find Melanie Griffith attractive, but d*mn!) and had the urge to IMDb it. I was on Tim Thomerson's page when I saw the "Was a Vietnam war buddy of the late actor Brion James" and I was thinking "what do you mean late?" 1999!? I was still in high school! I'm glad I'm not the only one who missed the fanfare.
It sucks, but it looks like he's had well enough of a Tupac career since:16d0 "Phoenix Point in 2005?" I remember it was only a few years or so ago when I caught "Galactica 1980" on Sci-Fi (hyping the new series) and was like "Hey! It's Brion James!"
RIP, Brion
I don't know what Post-Apocalyptic sci-fi movies are gonna do with you. -

Wow, just wow.. I had no idea like pretty much everyone else in this thread.
I always thought of Brion when I thought of a "bad guy"
He had the look, the intensity, the size.. a perfect combination..
So sad
The Blade Runner line "WAKE UP.TIME TO DIE!" will never be forgotten.
