I keep seeing some comments on here of users calling her ugly. Do some people automatically equate fat with ugly? I don't get it. You can call her overweight, but Queen Latifah is not an ugly woman. I was watching "Set It Off" the other day and Latifah even with the cornrows, lack of makeup and oversized masculine clothing was still was very pretty. I actually thought she and Jada Pinkett were the prettiest women in the movie. Her face is so nice. I mean i've seen a lot of skinny female celbrities who have great bodies, but unattractive faces and don't even come close to being as pretty as Latifah. It seems like if you have a great body people will overlook an ugly face, but if you have a pretty face and are overweight, people will call you ugly fo5b4r some reason. I really don't get it. This is not my idea of ugly:

She has a lovely face and great bone structure. The ugly claims are just unwarranted. I bet if she was thinner and had a body like the typical hollywood celeb, people would be saying how pretty and "hot" she was. -

She's defenitely not UGLY but I know she kind of looks overweight, and fat but in a sexy way I guess to me, yet she looks 100% healthy and something of her attracts me whenever I see her
I don't know if that's the shininess on her cheeks or the extra cushion that she carries with her.. whateverbut my point is she is one of a kind!

First off these pictures are so emphatically airbrushed that they don't even remotely resemble her (it). Secondly her face is chubby and her features are just round and puffy. She has no definition or angularity. Her body is like bloated beyond belief. She has no waist or hips. Just a big round ball of goo.

Ok, I just saw her in concert tonight and I had a good seat so I really saw her. Whoever says she is ugly is blind. I think she is a beautiful woman and she not only is beautiful to look at, she has a voice to die for.she seems comfortable in her own skin. She had fun, took the whole audience with her for a great night of fabulous entertainment and left us all wanting more. Ugly? No way..beautiful in her own, unique way.no cookie cutter model to be sure but beautiful,non the less.

I think she has a nice face and even though she's overweight she carries it pretty well. I think you're t7ecotally right that if she had a normal Hollywood figure people would think she was really hot.

No.she is not ugly.
I have worked in retail and I used her name as an example to other women. For one she has a pretty face and for two she truly knows how to dress well for her body type. You can't help but notice the size of someone's body, but Latifah knows how to use what she has got. And the only people who notice the weight as the first thing about her are the ones who were hateful to begin with. -

You are absolutely correct, Storm. Most ignorant people equate physical beauty with inner beauty. Although, I agree with you that QL is an attractive woman, I also value and respect others opinions of her beauty. Not all people think the same. Just as many people think Paris Hilton is beautiful, I think not. Everyone has thier different opinions of everything, which is what the world is about. Diversity! QL has a unique spirit and honest soul. She seems like she keeps it real 100%, and that is very attractive if you ask me. Even if I didn't know what she looked like, I would still say the same thing.

I agree with you, and although i respect that people have diffarent oppinions i think people are just mean if they say she is ugly, she is certanly not a ugly womanas for her weight why do you have be skin and bone to be conciderd "attractive"..she has a fuller figure which suites her and she looks beautiful just the way she is

Only women of her own race would say she was attractive. Others would refrain from their real opinions of her appearance for fear of retaliation and excoriation.

Overall, even though she's fat, I don't think she's ugly. I consider ugliness something that you can't get rid of without surgery. If she lost some weight (which isn't as hard as people make it out to be), she would look amazing.
I think she's pretty, but not sexy.
