mcdemuth, MonicaSellersMonroe is a hater. Just by taking a quick glance at the message boards she visitsshe's recently hated on Meryl Streep, Barbra Streisand, Janet Jackson and more. Ignore the hater.
Ginger got superb reviews for "Kitty Foyle" and the movie still packs an emotional wallop. It was a staple on pre-cable TV for many, many years. Since cable, it runs frequently on TCM and was shown often on AMC when it was legit.
"Kitty Foyle" was one of my town's libray's first movies on VHS. Now, our library has both the old VHS version as well as the DVD. Speaks volumes for an almost 77-year-old film.
Regarding "Storm Warning", I've always found it thrilling and suspenseful. I love the scene when Steve Cochran tries to molest Ginger and she gives him a tearful telling-off.
The LA Examiner said the acting of Ginger Rogers and Doris Day in this film was the best seen at Warner Bros. since Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland. Cue said it was Ginger's finest performance to date. MonicaSellersMonroe is a naysaying troll! -

Where better for fans to discuss their favorite stars than a site like this? I've read the hate you'd written about other actors and actresses here on IMDb. If you dislike Ginger Rogers, Meryl Streep, Barbra Streisand, et alstay off their message boards. This message board is for Ginger Rogers. "Kitty Foyle" and "Storm Warning" are not forgotten by Ginger's fans. Just because a film is old doesn't mean its forgotten. Bette Davis wasn't nominated for an Oscar for "Of Human Bondage". Yet, she won an Oscar for "Jezebel". Just because those films are old doesn't mean they're forgotten by her fans.

Box Office Draws
". Many People would go to see a movie, because their favorite stars were in it. THAT IS A FACT! That is why Studios signed Great Actors to long term contracts, and used them, time and time again in all of their movies.
Heck, even as late as 1978, which was AFTER Miss Ginger Rogers heyday When
Superman: The Movie
was made While the producers knew that Superman needed to be played by an Unknown Actor, they also knew they needed big name stars to appear in the film too, in order to attract adult audiences, because Superman was considered by many to be "
a character that only children would be interested in seeing
" And so
Marlon Brando

Gene Hackman
were cast And if anyone takes the time to notice, they will see that they are are top billed, BEFORE Christopher Reeve. That's really saying something, since Christopher Reeve plays the title role and lets face it We all know that the only real reason, why anyone would want to see THIS movie, is because of Superman! But that told audiences, this was not going to be a "
Kiddie
" film. And it wasn't!
The reality is, without FANS of actresses like Miss Ginger Rogers, Movies would constantly flop at the Box Office, because no one would want to go see them. Eventually the movie industry would have come to an end, and websites like IMDb wouldn't exist.
IMDb owes it's existence to the
FANS
, and it wasn't created so HATERS could bash every fan and every movie!

HA!! Ridiculous! I studied tap with a man named Tracy Everitt, who beside doing the Judy Garland Show, studied with Astaire and Hermes Pan.. And he said Ginger Rogers was the only dancer who ever looked natural with Astaire, all the other women he danced with were so impressed by him they let it show in their dance, she was the only one who wasnt, and was herself.. Said she had the best natural balance of any dancer he'd ever seen..
And thats just the opinion of one professional who happened to work in that era.. You only have to watch and have ANY knowledge of dance at all, to see she is amazing.. Oh, and no without Astaire she WOULDNT be a chorus girl, as she had a career in movies before he did!! They just happened to work SO well together, that 80 years later, it still cant be touched!
THATS why today you hear 'Fred and Ginger' NOT Fred and Eleanor, or Fred and Cyd, or Fred and Judy.. Because the one who stood out was GINGER.. Time has proven it.. -

Yes, there are a few trolls that pick a random message board or two each day, and go there and will say hateful things, lies, or just make crazy stuff up
The one about Carrie Fisher being adopted was flat out dumb, because it was always obvious Carrie inherited Debbie Reynolds eyes
Still, it is hard to tell when the non-"crazy" ones come by, because they are good at being specific and make it seem like they are really genuine.
I guess the lack of specifics coming from the OP, should have been a clue what we were dealing with
I've also learned to watch out for people making statements, and then saying "It's True", but then they don't provide any documentation to back up their claim.
Nevertheless, it still stings to hear such comments concerning our beloved Miss Ginger Rogers.
Unfortunately, the OP wasn't the first one to take aim at Miss Ginger Rogers, and probably won't be the last. -

The IMDb member PixieInChains is another troll. She was on the Ginger Rogers message boards December 24th, 2015 talking trash. She got put in her place by Ginger's fans. I looked at PixieInChains' other posts and sure enough she bashes many of the stars she bothers to post about. Waste of time!

Did you read the above messages, ygrittesnow? When Fred Astaire appeared on the "Parkinson" show in Britain in 1976, Michael Parkinson asked Fred who his favorite dancing partner was. At first, Fred didn't want to choose. But ultimately he said "I must say Ginger was certainly the one. You know, the most effective partner I had. Everyone knows." You can see the clip on YouTube at "Fred Astaire interview - Parkinson 1976".
Fred was kept soley in films with Ginger made in the 1930s by RKO (except once in a film with Joan Fontaine "A Damsel in Distress" which was a flop and got Fred put on the Box-office Poison list). Ginger was busybusybusy making films with and without Fred. In the 1940s she had a wondeful career sans Fred.
She made many memorable, well-received comedies and dramas, and won an Oscar as Best Actress for "Kitty Foyle". Fred considered his career over after his RKO films with Ginger ended. He called the period between his last RKO film with Ginger in 1939 and hisb68 wonderful "comeback" with Judy Garland in "Easter Parade" (1948) "the dark years". -
