Your "friend" has a curious definition of what a "b*tch" is - in my opinion it's a rude, malicious, trouble making individual, things even Ginger's handful of detractors in Hollywood have never said of her. There is no way I believe Ginger ever called anyone "subhuman imbeciles". I can see her snubbing or ignoring people she didn't like but absolutely not her speaking so venomously of her coworkers. No one has ever made such a allegation before to my knowledge. Your pal frankly sounds like one of the many nasty, gossipy little people in show business in minor jobs who are ultra-jealous of the stars they come in to contact and spread nasty tales about them. It happens to every star even Ginger Rogers.

Harlow, thanks for that ^ .
I always appreciate and enjoy your comments.
Some of our most beloved Hollywood icons weren't so nice in private; others were decent sorts who occasionally flew off the handle; and still others were of the sort where seldom an evil word could ever be said of them; as far as I've always known, Miss Rogers belonged to that last class of entertainers.
I became acquainted with Erik Rhodes, Miss Rogers's co-star in THE GAY DIVORCEE and TOP HAT, in the mid 1980's and until he died; Mr. Rhodes had nothing but good things to say about Ginger and her most famous of leading men, Fred Astaire.

Every one has a few bad days in their life. My grandfather knew Ginger slightly back in the day, when she dated Jake La Motta he frequented a club he owned. He never had a bad word to say about her, said she was always friendly and polite.

I doubt she was a rude woman. She seemed to be quite lovely.

That's not the first time I've seen someone from Hello Dolly speak more positively about Betty Grable than about Ginger. It might have been the same person.

I read an old interview with Gail Patrick given when Patrick was a senior citizen. Patrick was a frequently employed, glamorous supporting actress in the 1930s and 40s, often as the "other woman. " Some of her movies include "Stage Door", "My Man Godfrey", "My Favorite Wife" and "Love Crazy." She also produced the Perry Mason TV series. She talked a bit about working on "Stage Door" which starred Ginger and Katherine Hepburn. She said Ginger was a delight, loved by the crew, and Katherine Hepburn was a pain in the ***. Her opinion was that Katherine H. was jealous of Ginger because of Ginger's popularity. Patrick was a true friend, because in her opinion "Ginger was a better natural actress too!" (than Hepburn). She goes on to talk about how Ginger got her roles in film when Patrick's acting career hit a lull, and how much she appreciated it.
The only other Ginger story I have was when Ginger was older and I think in some type of tour/review. The guy who told it to me worked security. His main remark was that she was extremely chatty and friendly.
I've always been curious about Ginger's mother. There are "stage mothers" that are a detriment, and then there are parents that are a real asset. It always seemed to me that Ginger's mother had her own life, didn't live through her daughter or control her, but was probably the best business manager and smart about money and her daughter's (and others) best interests. Her mother has quite a story. Unlike, say, Jean Harlow's mother, Ginger and her mother were smart about money, didn't squander it, helped others. I don't think Pandro Berman would have had the woman in his office just to make Ginger happy. It's also very important that a female star of the era get paid what they're worth, as star careers for women are very short. Just about every female movie star of that era had to make some kind of stink before they got paid what their male co-star got paid, or at least fairly. That goes on today still.

Yes, I've heard similar stories by many who encountered her. Just a mean spirited woman who thought others were beneath her.
Betty Grable, on the other hand, was loved by all. She was a better actress, singer, comedian and yes dancer than miss Rogers. Ginger was never in the top ten favorites. Betty was the only entertainer, male or female to remain in the top ten for 10 years, a record to this day. I think that says it all. Case closed.

Seeing what you posted in another thread, I see that you are simply lying here
Why, because you have no proof, no examples to support your OPINION
This thread was started with ONE example, from a known troll who goes to every forum making up lies for the fun of it. Even if it were true, it was probably from some guy who tried to proposition Miss Ginger Rogers, who was too classy to say yes, and told him to get lost. Of course this man who didn't get his way with her, would say such nasty things, about her
I've never heard of anyone else of IMPORTANCE, which is not YOU, saying anything bad about her.
She NEVER had a reputation of being a "B" to anyone, and certainly wasn't the biggest in the business
There are plenty of other actress who proved to be bigger "B"'s than Miss Ginger Rogers Katherine Hepburn for example
                    Case closed.
Again with these type of comments?
Who do you think you are? to expect people to believe any post you make, with statements like
"It A Fact!" & "Case Closed"
Ahh Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
What a load of horse manure!

Those who refute the facts that Miss Rogers was a nasty piece of work, can believe what they want. I'm just sharing what most in the "biz" know to be true. Sorry to burst your Ginger colored bubble, but Hollywood in general, did not care for her. It's sad but when you treat people like dirt you will not be admired.

coreymax23 is a troll! Ginger was well-liked and respected throughout Hollywood and her list of Hollywood friends; Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, Fred Astaire, Bob Hope, James Stewart (and the list goes on and on) attests to that. One wouldn't stay a major Hollywood star for such a long time, such as Ginger did, if people didn't like them. Nuff said.
