Is she?

According to Roseanne, in the early years of the show, the producers (I think Matt Williams) floated the idea to Goodman of dummping Roseanne and going with someone else - he supposedly said count me out if that happens.
I don't know if they're friends but Roseanne has said she never forgot that. -

YES, John and Roseanne remain friends!
He has supported her roles on stage (like Wicked Witch in "Wizard of Oz" on B'way a few years back), and she visits him in N.O. on occasion.
The last PUBLIC get together of the two was for the show's dvd release party and appearance on Larry King.
as for the allegation by candrew088, John AND Laurie were both approached with the "An Officer and a Gentleman" ep (the one Rosie barely appeared in), and NO ONE was told until after, that the ep was to be a possible example of the show WITHOUT Roseanne, much like VALERIE became VALERIE'S FAMILY and later THE HOGAN FAMILY.
When ALL THREE FOUND OUT, they ganged up on the producers TOGETHER and ALL THREE threatened to quit if they forced Roseanne out.
So yeah, I can believe that Roseanne never forgot WHAT THE PRODUCERS TRIED TO DO TO HER AND THEN JOHN AND LAURIE SUPPORTING/STANDING BESIDE HER!"I will show you the life of the mind!" Karl Mundt

She eventually became a producer on the show, but not for a couple of seasons at least. That would tie-in with previous comments about her possibly being replaced by the current producer(s).
"I wish I didn't know about any of this! I wish I was like everybody else in the world, and tomorrow it would just be over. There wouldn't be any time to be sorry about anything. Oh, Jesus! I really wanted to learn how to swim! I swear to God I did." -

I thought she was a producer since s2?
Isnt this show based off Ro's own life and her comedy routines?
I think that is why the show did so well & def resonates 2day with the recession.
Also, you sig is from what song/poem/movie? Who said it?

Just because she was a producer, or even an executive producer doesn't mean that she could do whatever she wanted. She developed the show with Carsey/Warner Productions & ABC but I'm sure that they contract specified that THEY owned the show and the characters, not her. Executive Producer can mean a lot of things. Often on sequels, remakes and later seasons of TV shows you see "Executive Producer" credits for people who are not longer involved in the show. They just get that credit & a check out of contract obligations. In reality Rosanne did call the shots on the show (and even did some silly vanity type of things) but she had to fight tooth and nail for that kind of control.

The show is the one where Roseanne's dad gets hurt and she goes to help out with him and her mother while Jackie stays behind and takes care of the kids and Dan. Rosie appears at the very beginning of the episode and then shows up at the very end (with her new haircut).
Supposedly they wanted to kick her off the show because Roseanne was very hard to work with. On a good day she was supposed to be one of the best professionals in Hollywood - on a bad day she could make the work atmosphere a nightmare (and I'm assuming at that time there were more bad days than good, since she was involved with Tom Arnold). She also stuck to her guns and rarely backed down from what she wanted and the producers didn't like being told what to do.
I'm guessing if they renamed the show, it would've gone back to the original title of "LIFE AND STUFF", but that's just an assumption on my part. -

Yes, they are still dear friends. She has remained close to John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf even though they don't see each other often. I've seen her post on her site in recent years about how much she adores both of them.
