I know this is probably something a 15 year old girl would write, and yet even though I am a 32 year old woman I wish someone like Ross existed and be his. I really love this character, I know David Schwimmer is not Ross. but Ross is just the kind of guy I wish I had. the writers of the show pictured him so well, and even though he's not perfect and not that handsome, I have found myself really liking him more and more as the seasons went on. Plus David Schwimmer played the part so well to make it seem so real to me. Maybe also becasue I have watched Friends for the first time only now. I bought all the 10 seasons all together and watched it during my 3 week holiday. So it was quite a big impact . I am a dreamy girl or young woman and Ross really hit me.

Ok, he might have been wining from time to time, but he was emotional, sensitive, warm and protective - he was such a sweet guy! And he's handsome too
He wasn't my absolute favourite character (which would be Chandler) but he was far from my least favourite either (that would be Monica). Ross had some really humorous moments -

Ross was one of the only real characters. They made Joey dumber as it went on. They made Monica more of a clean freak as it went on. They made Phoebe more "promiscuous" as it went on. Etc.
Ross wasn't that whiny, and for those who complain about Ross Well, what do you think you're doing? Whining.
Ross should be real. I want to know where he got his dinosaur watch from.

I couldn't disagree more. I don't mean to start a long talkjust I truly love the type of man he plays. Chandler makes me laugth the most.. but Ross is the kind of guy I'd surely date. for he's very sensitive, at the same time funny and sweet. He's not a macho, a tough guy, or the one who likes playing hard to get and so.. but he's kind, tender and I just like him heaps.

Sorry man this may come out from your own experience and if that is the case again I am sorry. I guess in a way or another we've all been through what you above described but that doesn't mean this is just the way things are.
Again, maybe what you said could be true if we divide women in two categories: under and over let's say 27.. when I was twenty I was probably going after the tough man now at the age of 32. I assure you it's the ross type of guy I would feel most comfortable with. plus he's not that whining. I like the sensitive and sweet part of him. plus there's no perfection among humans being he's got his flaws like everyone else
or if you want here comes my UTOPY: the man of my dreams should be as funny as Chandler, as sensitive and sweet as Ross, as good in bed as joey. but sadly that is not possible to take just the qualities we like the most in each single individual and leave their flaws behin, ultimately transfer them into one single guy or girl. So you gotta deal with something .not easy but possible.

that's not it..it's not because my clock is ticking and I have to settle down it's because I have become more mature and allow me to say also " wiser ". it's not cause I'm scared to be alone or I want security it's because being with tough guy does not make me feel good and on the other hand I do feel good, comfortable, at peace with someone like Ross who's by the way can still get me hot .
