Honored and praised are two different things. No one is knocking her acting ability. I just can't believe she was a model.

I also2000 disagree, she is beautiful. And like most black women, she looks terrific with age.
What butt teeth? WTF? Her teeth look fine, they are really nice,large and straight. At least nothing is missing. People would kill for a smile like that. Very beautiful and elegant looking woman.
If busted looking Alek Wek can be a model, Cicely could. And she was/is FAR from ugly.
As for your rantings, you began the post on this topic, so people have a right to inject their opinions -

she goregous for her age!!! I think your forgetting how most 70 some year olds look. How good she looks now, I can surely believe she was a model back in her day. Infact I would assume she was a model back in the day.

Actress she maybe but pretty she is not. I've NEVER heard anyone say she was "pretty" except ya'll. LOL And I'm entitled to MY opinion.
She looks like Florida from Good Times was she pretty?

Looks aren't important, but talent is and Cicely Tyson has plenty of both.I could care less what she looks like because I KNOW she is a great actress and a true legend in the acting world. I admire her longevity and dignity. I respect her for being a positve role model that I can look up to. By the way I don't understand what there is that you can't believe because it is a FACT that she was a model; it's been said and done. Why are you still questioning it?

Obviously if many people in here think she is beautiful and you are the only one who does not, how in the hell can you say 'I've never heard anyone say she is pretty"? Perhaps no one discusses Cicely Tyson like that? They know she is very lovely, but they only focus on her legend and acting talent. Maybe looks are not the number one thing and who said an actress has to look pretty? Who the hell are you?
Good for you, but don't b itch and whine because people are not going to agree with16d0 you. Grow the hell up and have some respect.
That's all subjective, personally I do not think she favors Ester Rolle at all. You have some hate in you that you need to address. Being a model does not require you to be 'drop dead gorgeous', it requires you to have a unique look. That said, Mrs. Tyson will alway be eternally beautiful.
If you are young lady, then I suggest you get that nasty personality of yours together. If you think you look good but have that shallowness, a guy is not going to stay with you. He will leave your ass for a woman of more depth. Get it together, sista. -

I'll bet you're just as dark as Mrs. Tyson if not darker, and because of this you dislike your self and your looks and therefore you dislike anyone who probably looks like you. It's sad. You need to love your self first and then you will see why we all love the beautiful Mrs. Tyson.

You still put the comma in the wrong place This rule applies only when the conjunction joins two independent clauses, not when it joins two words, phrases, or dependent clauses. These are incorrect uses of the comma:
*Grandmother lost her sight, and her hearing.
*Banks, and community groups help the elderly, and eliminate the confusion they often feel.
