Looks aren't important, but talent is and Cicely Tyson has plenty of both.I could care less what she looks like because I KNOW she is a great actress and a true legend in the acting world. I admire her longevity and dignity. I respect her for being a positve role model that I can look up to. By the way I don't understand what there is that you can't believe because it is a FACT that she was a model; it's been said and done. Why are you still questioning it?

Your opinion
< I've NEVER heard anyone say she was "pretty" except ya'll>
Obviously if many people in here think she is beautiful and you are the only one who does not, how in the hell can you say 'I've never heard anyone say she is pretty"? Perhaps no one discusses Cicely Tyson like that? They know she is very lovely, but they only focus on her legend and acting talent. Maybe looks are not the number one thing and who said an actress has to look pretty? Who the hell are you?
Good for you, but don't b itch and whine because people are not going to agree with16d0 you. Grow the hell up and have some respect.
That's all subjective, personally I do not think she favors Ester Rolle at all. You have some hate in you that you need to address. Being a model does not require you to be 'drop dead gorgeous', it requires you to have a unique look. That said, Mrs. Tyson will alway be eternally beautiful.
If you are young lady, then I suggest you get that nasty personality of yours together. If you think you look good but have that shallowness, a guy is not going to stay with you. He will leave your ass for a woman of more depth. Get it together, sista. -

Thanks for taking that 30 minutes out of your unproductive day to break down my post clownclub. LOL You sir/ma'am are PRESSED. Is she paying your bills?
I'm entitled to my opinion and you and your net friends that you've conned to come to this topic have yours. It's sad when folks have to get people to co-sign to make them feel better.
Me voicing my opinion is hating? Chile please get a damned grip. We are talking about uglass Cicely Tyson! LOL
You get it together SISTA and use spell check dude. Learn how to formulate a sentence, get your commas/spaces correct; then follow your own SUGGESTIONS. Looks like you need to take a look at yourself.
Now go call for more back up! LOL

- Sheneneh1927, I'm sure you are a black woman or man who is ashamed of your own skin color. I'll bet you're just as dark as Mrs. Tyson if not darker, and because of this you dislike your self and your looks and therefore you dislike anyone who probably looks like you. It's sad. You need to love your self first and then you will see why we all love the beautiful Mrs. Tyson.

"Sheneneh
LOOK. Please get over yourself, and most importantly learn how to spell becasue you write like a slave. I'm sure that you're black, so please stop making us look bad because of your ignorance."
Dude please get YOURSELF together before you come TRYING to JANK. Please re-reread before YOU try to put someone one blast.
A comma should have come after Sheneneh and it's because not BECASUE! Try againloser!

Can you say PRESSED? Aw I hurt it's feelings! Coming back to explain wa, wa, wa!! Ya big baby, I can't tell you took a creative writing course. I can tell that you didn't attend a PWI. Please have better goals for yourself. LOL
You still put the comma in the wrong place This rule applies only when the conjunction joins two independent clauses, not when it joins two words, phrases, or dependent clauses. These are incorrect uses of the comma:
*Grandmother lost her sight, and her hearing.
*Banks, and community groups help the elderly, and eliminate the confusion they often feel.
Insert janica's statement here>"Stay in school too, and if you ARE in school well"
I'm just trying to help you out since you are giving lessons. You were a creative writing student my a$$, ok I'll give it to you maybe you werein kindergarden but not in college, apparently.

Like I said PRESSED. Stop acting like a crying YAMP. So what? You have a degree, so do I. Yet, I don't have a need to PUB myself online to folks I don't know or give a hoot about. Do you want me to give yo broke ass a job? I can hook that up if you'd like.
No, my feelings can't be hurt by someone that's explaining themself online. When I turn this mofo off you are off with it. And you must be off in the head to feel 5b4that you've ever offended me (what a damned joke, sugar). You are on your side of the computer at the library or prison and I'm at mine at work or home. LOL
Please, do better!

Why do so many posts in this website devolve into racist rants? It's like we're going back into an apartheid mentality in what is supposed to be civilization. What on earth is wrong with people?
I'm black American and I watched Sounder with a group of non-black women. Their first comment when they saw Cicely in the movie was, "Wow! She's beautiful!" She sure could've been a model. Go back and look at her as a young woman, the way she carried herself was extremely graceful and she is/was quite slender which is what is considered an asset for modeling attire. Also, she radiates something. Check out any number of things that she's acted in; she communicates a lot without even having to say anything. Also she comes across as being keenly intelligent and sensitive in all of her roles. This can't be said for a lot of other actresses who look in some cases like they got on the screen because they slept with some producer.
