This is, essentially, what "Beyond Thunderdome" was about. From all previous accounts, "Fury Road" - like "The Road Warrior" - is, basical5b4ly, a silent film.
So, we'll see how this plays out.

Forget Gibson, he is too old. A cameo maybe but not Max. It has to be a lesser known and an Aussie. I think Alex O'Loughlin would be awesome as the new Mad Max.

I read in the trivia for Fury Road that on April 3, 2015, Tom Hardy announced he would sign on for 3 more Mad Max films.
