''As for being in "the tribe", such a "membership" is passed down via the mother and last names are usually taken via the father.''
Only going by Zionist beep Anyone is Jewish if they follow the Hebrew religion, if not, they are arguably not Jewish because, regardless of bogus crap from Zionists, ''Jewish'' is not a race or an ethnicity. Perhaps you can be ''culturally'' Jewish but not because of genetics.

Biblically there is no such thing as a Jewish Religion. Heathen and Gentile both translated words that mean Foreigner or Alien. Of course in English translations at least "Jew" appears in the Old Testament only in Esther. That is around the same time the idea of allowing "Prostyltes" to come in emerges. But those individual had to be Circumcised which ins Mosaic Jews Law is effectively becoming a Citizen of the nation, it's still not a religious concept as we'd define today.
This Rabbinic ideas of Jewishness being Materlineal is not Biblical either though, Biblically Tribal identity is defined purely by Pater-lineal ancestry.

''Maltese are closest genetically and linguistically to North African Arabs.''
Indeed. They are Siculo-Arabic, infact, with a lot of influence from Italy after the era in which they were in Sicily.

'Maltese are closest genetically and linguistically to North African Arabs.'
Wrong, linugistically they share a related language to Arabic because of Sicilians migrating to Malta, but genetically there has been shown to have been little impact from the Arab conquerors.

That is just pop-genetics beep For some reason the ''scientists'' who make such claims never seem to know about genetic drift. They descend from Arabs, it is just that they have been mixing with their close neighbours, such as Italy, for hundreds of years now so the genetics we can see are mostly the more recent Italian ones. That is how genetics works.
