When halle berry won the oscar and said she was proud the be the "first black woman" to win an oscar i was pissed. She was raised by her white mother, who most likely had to struggle a lot to raise her. I do agree that a lot of ignorant people will look at her and jsut see a black girl, but i still think it was un-fair for her to say that.
People aren't being "ignorant" for seeing Halle as a black girl. People see her as a black girl because she LOOKS like a black girl. Most people would never guess that she has a white mother because Halle looks like the average black women. She does NOT look biracial at all. -

Even if white people have shunned her black heritage, isn't her black side kind of shunning her own white heritage? I mean, who cares who has looked down on you for being a bi-racial woman, you are half white and black, regardless of who is too racist to validate it.

i think also in hollywood when youre biracial you can work in both industries.
you can be in black shows.

She is a Black/African American..that is her ethnic group. It has nothing to do with biology, she and everyone else knows that not all her ancestors were African, but what does that have to do with HER ethnic group???
