I agree. The amount of arguments i have on here over it. It doesn't matter if the girl consented or not it's still wrong
How is it wrong? cuz authorities say its wrong or cuz YOU say its wrong? I sware, most of you americans cant make decisions on your own and need to follow rules of something that you see and not decide if and why something is wrong for yourselves.

Rape also counts as having sex with a minor, with her consent or not. Because a child hasn't fully developed the part of the mind that allows them to understand the full consequences of their actions (basically the common sense part) they aren't really capable of consenting to anything.

Hell no I didn't have sex with any guy who asked me! What the beep am I doing having sex with anyone at 14? Out of the 14 year olds who have sex half of them think they're still virgins since all they did was give blow jobs inbetween classes while the other half think it's okay to have sex with a guy as long as it's your boyfriend. And you just proved my point: if 14 year olds have sex because they want to be cool and popular they are obviously not capable of making their own decisions, smart ones anyway. -

There are many countries in the world in which it would be legal for a 14 year old and 30 year old to engage in sexual activities, among them Canada and Mexico.

I like MJs music (Im not a major fan) and I like a few of r.kellys tracks. The proof is there of the wrongness they have done but I will still download their music and it enjoy it, That does not mean I support what they have done and nor will I.
If mj and rk enjoy doing things like this so much perhaps they should rellocate to where it is allowed.

There are other parts of the world where 14 year olds are allowed to engage in sexual acts and I think those are wrong too. The problem I have is that R.Kelly is getting away with it so easily. I mean it's definitely him in the video. Other americans wouldn't get away with it so why should he even if you don't think what he commited was a crime he was still dong something against the law.
I am not just saying this because I don't like his music. -

8 years ago, I was 14. That's not a very long time, and I point this out because I don't want the argument that things are 'different now'. When I was in school being the slut was NOT cool. The popular girls were the 'pure', the virgins, the teases. Whether or not they were actually virgins is up for discussion but that's not the point. Whoever told you it's necessary to go screw anything that moves to be cool deserves to get pushed in front of a train, and frankly you could use a good smack around for believing it.
I, for one, didn't do ~anything~ until I was 17 and I never had a problem with it in school. In fact, the only person I know that had a problem would be a girl that was caught giving a BJ in the stair tower, and afterwards she spent the rest of her high-school life isolated and hated.
But above all this? You don't know a damn thing at 14 and hell, you don't really know anything even at 18. You might think you do, but you don't. A 30+ year old man, however, knows plenty. Certainly a hell of a lot more than a girl still going through puberty. When you take advantage of someone underage you disrupt the way they age; they learn and deal with emotional and physical problems that should have been years away. You basically kill the person they would have become and change them forever. THAT is why there is an age limit. The age of consent laws are there to give boys and girls a chance to grow into men and women before they are forced to deal with all the beep the world will throw at them.
If you can't respect that, you deserve to be behind bars too.
Oh and, just because 14 is legal in some countries doesn't mean it's okay. Some asian countries prostitute 8 year olds and it is legal; does that make it okay? Obviously, not. -

unless they kill someone. then everyone drops the charade and acknowledges that they should be held responsible for their own actions. that's why 11 year olds are tried as adults. -

A person who is less than 18 years of age is considered a juvenile under Colorado law. If charged with a crime, he or she is treated differently than an adult.
another quick google search found this story of a 14 year old tried as an adult in colorado and this is less than a month old. so, there is the law that's on the books, and the law that's practiced in real life.

i know i never murdered anybody at 12, lol. but at 15 like the girl in this case, you most certainly have to be responsible for your actions. because if a 15 year old killed someone, no one would have pity for them then. -

is that were it ended, or did you also do stupid stuff in your 20s that you probably won't do in your 30s? there's probably stuff you'll do in your 30s that you won't do when you're in your 50s, right? using this line of logic undesirable behavior can forever be excused.
i'm not sure if you're purposely being misleading or just misunderstood, but the statistics you provided do not speak to the topic of conversation at all. first of all they only include judicial wavers and do not include statutory exclusion or concurrent jurisdictions. second, they include all juveniles, which is anyone under 18, when we were speaking very sp111cecifically about 15 year olds. of course the numbers are going to be drastically skewed if your data includes 5 year olds.(because unfortunately, we do arrest 5 year olds in america, lol). lastly, these numbers are from 1994! this was almost two decades ago. in 1994 schwarzenegger was still top at the box office, boyz II men were ruling the charts, and white people still liked oj.
at 15 in the u.s. you can legally operate a motor vehicle, you can even get married. hell, at 15(younger even) you can be detained by the us department of defense as an enemy combatant. i know you're just playing devil's advocate, but the fact remains if you're 15 and you're getting pissed on by r kelly it's because you want to be pissed on by r kelly, not because you don't know any better. -

- funny story, we've all done stupid stuff. but what you didn't admit to yourself then is the same thing you're not admitting now. you knew very well what you were doing then was ethically wrong. you very well knew what you were doing was illegal. no one who is old enough to steal and operate a motor vehicle does not understand the concept of stealing.
As far as I'm concerned (and in many cases, as too the law) a 5yr old and a 15yr old is the same.
this is just something one would say on a message board, not something one actually believes. as your previous posts have demonstrated your intelligence, i simply can not believe that you actually believe this.

my issue is with the lack of accountability arguments, not arguments specifically dealing with r kelly. i like his music, but i think we16d0 all agree he's pretty stupid. i mean if you're filming yourself committing crimes jail is probably somewhere in your future.
i just don't like it when people pretend that at 15 years old you should not be held accountable for your own actions.
