After watching this stupid polar bear commercial spewing the enviromental wacko claptrap about them dying off because of global warming. The fact that their population has grown from 5000 to over 25000 bears in the last 30 years seems to escape the wackos' notice. Or the fact that global warming stopped 10 years ago and is now on the verge of global cooling. That's why now it's called Climate Change. LOL!!!

Why don't you look up the facts about global warming, and then maybe you can appreciate someone who actually takes a stand for what they believe in. Its probably the most pathetic thing for you to "lose all respect for her" because she stood up for what she believes in. I suppose you hate everyone else who voices their opinions as well .. jeez. It's ignorant people like you that give this nation a bad name.

Polar bears dying out in Russian region
MOSCOW (AFP) Polar bears are dying out in the remote Arctic region of Chukotka because of melting ice and increased killing by humans, an expert with the International Fund for Animal Welfare warned on Friday.
"If this tendency continues, the population will disappear very quickly, said Nikita Ovsyanikov, a researcher from Wrangel Island natural park in Chukotka who has spent the past 18 years studying polar bears in the region.
"We need to create new protected areas in the Arctic," said Ovsyanikov, who has conducted research on behalf of IFAW.
The shrinking of the Arctic ice sheet is forcing more bears to live on land in the summer where they often have trouble finding food, which means they have to go into villages to scavenge and are more likely to be shot, he said.
Polar bear furs are also becoming increasingly popular in Russia, where the killing of polar bears is strictly forbidden except for self-defence. IFAW estimates around 100 polar bears are killed illegally in Russia every year.
There are a total of around 22,000 polar bears in the Arctic. Five thousand of them live between Chukotka and the US state of Alaska and are being forced further and further north because of the melting ice, IFAW said. -

Excellent point-I looked up the original article and NASA follow up.It's a standard RW practice to take something someone said and make it sound as if they are saying something els5b4e.Happens all the time with regards to anything they are opposed to.It's SOP with them and easily debunked if you do the research. It's just misleading propaganda.

I don't know what the hell is going on with the polar bears. I do know that this area harbors significant oil resources. Tapping into them would help kill dependence on Mideastern oil. Even so, there are arguments for and against this, which I respect.
Regarding Ms. Lawrence, I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S REAR END ABOUT HER THOUGHTS RE. FOREIGN POLICY OR ANYTHING ELSE.
She's an ACTRESS, not a politician, much less an intellectual. Let's see, who was the last intellectual who acted as a regular on a TV series? Actors should ACT. If they want to expound about issues, that's their right. But it is also our right to ignore such expounding to concentrate on their acting, good or bad.
Lawrence is a good actress and (need I add) a sexy woman. I watch her to enjoy those qualities. But I wouldn't think of consulting her about global-international issues, for Pete's sake. -

Okay, let me try to splain this to you Lucy. The poster who's posting was deleted had said " Actors should ACT ". You saw my reply to him/her. The reason I said that was that I wish that Reagan had stuck to acting and stayed out of politics. I've seen him act many times and he wasn't bad at all. He was an even better actor when he got into politics, considering how far his acting got him.
