I'm no music style expert but it sounds of a waltz style, with a touch of barbershop quartet. Paul was the music hall man meets rocker meets storyteller of The Beatles. The song continues a tradition of tapping in to music styles from around 1920s by Paul McCartney eg When I'm 64, Your Mother Should Know, Martha my Dear, Lady Madonna.

Honey Pie, You Gave Me The Answer, Good Night Princess, Walking in the Park with Eloise (Jimmie McCartney), maybe there are others.
Music Hall era had some outstanding songs, but Paul's contributions are at least worth mentioning.
