dreamcatcher: "Oh, really? I thought they weren't talking to each other. If I'm not mistaken, John was making "bitter" comments about Paul after they split. He even wrote the song "How Do You Sleep?" for him. In which, obviously, he doesn't express very positive feelings for him!
Is the information you gave me accurate? Do you have a link?"
Yes, you are quite correct. In fact at one point Paul sued all three of the other Beatles and wasn't speaking to any of them. Time healed those wounds and those things passed. Eventually, all of the Beatles made up with each other.
As for John, he had a very volatile personality and was all over the map on his feelings. One day he hated Paul and the next day he loved him like a brother. One day he was a radical liberal and the next day he was Ronald Reagan supporter.
Sorry, don't have any links for you but I've read something like 25 books about the Beatles and those books are where most of my information comes from. In fact, I just picked up Lewisohn's book "Tune In" and will start reading it shortly.

PS, it wasn't his "wild weekend". I mis-stated that. It was his "lost weekend".

Why did Paul sue the other 3?
How could John be a Reagan supporter? Reagan a became president a month after John died!
But even if he was a supporter, why was he??
And what was his "lost weekend" about?

"Why did Paul sue the other 3?"
In order to dissolve the Beatle's business partnership.
"How could John be a Reagan supporter? Reagan a became president a month after John died!"
Dreamcatcher, Are you being serious? John was a Ronald Reagan supporter in the same way that many people today are supporting Hillary Clinton for President in 2016 even though that election is more than 2 years away.
"But even if he was a supporter, why was he??" At some point John had met Ronald Reagan and was quite impressed by him.
"And what was his "lost weekend" about?"
Try googling the term "John Lennon's lost weekend". I suspect you will find dozens of links that will explain it to you.

The "lost weekend" was actually a year long bender with John and Harry Neilson. Neilson irreparably destroyed his voice, making the "Pussycats" album, which Lennon produced.

John and George were zt odds when Lennon was1c84 shot. George always regretted it, from what I have read and seen in interviews.

John and George were at odds, because Lennon was hurt by Harrison's lack of acknowledgement to Lennon in Harrison autobiography "I Me Mine".

There was even a movie about it. You gan find it here on imdb. It was a 2000 made for gable movie galled "Two of us". Wow; for someone who has done research on The Beatles, you seem to have missed alot.

Actually, McCartney and Lennon went back and forth, bashing each other, via song. "How Do You Sleep" was in response to Paul's "Too Many People" and "Dear Boy" off of "Ram". The cover of "Ram" showed Paul clutching the horns of a ram. Lennon mocked this in the Imagine album, showing himself clutching the ears of a pig.
By '75 they had resolved their differences and Paul would visit John frequently at the Dakota.

In that Playboy interview John said that Paul and Linda would just drop in without calling first. He grew a little tired of it and asked Paul to call first and Paul got in a snit about it. So going by that and the SNL reunion request I would say their last meeting (not counting phone calls) was probably 1976. Didn't Paul tour the US in '76 with Wings (Wings Over America)?

Do a google search for "a toot and a snore in '74"
It's a bootleg of a (not very good at all) studio session John and Paul did together in 1974.

That recording is worthless, save for the historical context.

What books did you read? Pretty much every bok written that features pist-Beatles information has gone into detail about continuous communication between them.
