ZAKK WYLDE!!! I prefer his approach with bad ass riffs, squeals, and heavy blues over Rhoads' complexity and more classical style. Just what I prefer. Zakk rules!

        1. Randy Rhoads
          The original. Impossible to replicate.
        2. Zakk Wylde
Best choice since RR, but his style has devolved and is replicated by countless metal guitarists.
        3. Jake E. Lee
Superb live showman, but terrible sound in studio. Is he in some pot induced stupor, still? No reason he should have fall off the face of the earth. At the very least he should have returned to Ratt.
        4. Bernie Torme
Closest sounding to Randy Rhoads. I would love to hear a studio album by Ozzy with Bernie. Too short of a duration with Ozzy and it's too bad.
        5. Brad Gillis
Style not suited for Ozzy, but he would have been game. Listen to Gus G and you'll hear what a love child of Brad and Zakk would sound like.
        6. Gus G
Brad Gillis and Zakk Wylde's love child. A completely un-original, derivative guitarist. I hope he doesn't last long.
        7. Joe Holmes
          See Gus G.

Before you judge Gus G too harshly, let's not forget that he didn't write ANYTHING on 'Scream'. And I don't think it's a bad album, maybe too predictable when comparing it to Ozzmosis or his earlier albums, but it is getting multiple listens from me.

He didn't write anything on Scream? Hmmm. I will admit that I have Gus' solo album and I couldn't imagine what he could bring to the table as an Ozzy guitarist. It sounded in the same vein as Brad Gillis' solo album. Not bad, just not memorable. I did not like how much he sounds like Zakk on the scream album, which is not a feather in Gus' cap.

Yeah it's funny how Ozzy claims he was sounding too much like BLS, yet Scream has so many BLS moments!

I am a DIE HARD OZZY fan and have been since the early 80's when I first heard Mr. Crowley. I have every thing Ozzy has put out as a solo artist and most of his stuff from Sabbath on cd, ALL of Sabbath with Ozzy on itunes.
I have to say that Randy Rhodes was hands down the best and an original, Followed very closely by Zakk (who in my opinion is the only one who can even come close to playing the Randy stuff live) then Brad Gillis, then Jake E. Lee. Now dont get me wrong OZZY has NEVER had a bad Guitar player with him, hell he has NEVER had a bad musician play with him.
Ozzy knows how to pick the best at what they do.

                    Randy Rhoads and Brad Gillis
Randy was a Metal / Classical god and never made it past 25 years old. Words cant really explain what he'd do to music today if he was still around.
Brad Gillis, He filled in for Rhoads after he died, got it rough from the fans and the band was at a low point due to the death, but yet he played his ass off and did a great job.

Mr. Randy Rhoades soundwise was effortless, clean and symphonic I put him up above the others.
                      I admit nothing!

Rhoads is Metal royalty without a doubt. I would love to see a Jake reunion before it's too late.

Ozzy always has very excellent guitarists. Randy Rhoads was far and away the best.
