I don't know if this has been posted before but did you notice that it was odd that she played Laura Innes mother on ER? They are only 7 years apart in real life. And she is obviously not old enough to play her mother. I know tv is not real and all that but that is just too close of an age difference. They could have at least made her look older to pull it off. It just did not seem right to me.

And on Good Times, the show from the 70s. The actor who played the father was only 8 yrs older than the actor who played the oldest son.
On 7th Heaven. The actress who plays the middle daughter is older than the actress who player h1354er older sister.
Same thing happend on Eight is Enough. A couple of the actresses who played younger sisters are older than the one who played the oldest sister.

Haha cool thread

In Malcolm in the Middle, Justin Berfield plays Reese, Malcolm's older brother when in fact Frankie Muniz is 3 months older.
Estelle Getty who played Beatrice Arthur's mother in The Golden Girls is in fact 2 months younger than her on-screen daughter. -

In the railway children, Sally Thomsett, who played Phyllis, was 2 years older than the girl who played Bobbie. She was 21, playing an 8 year old, and had a clause in her contract saying that she had to pretend to be 16.

Or in the classic
North by Northwest
(Alfred Hitchcock, 1959), Jessie Royce Landis plays the mother of Cary Grant even though she was only a little over seven years older than the dashing Grant.
In other words, for better or worse, we're talking about a longtime Hollywood convention.
years older than Harrison Ford, and yet he played his dad in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade".. but lets face it.. Who else could have?
