This is what I find bizarre about religion. He has his doctrine already. He doesn't need another one. He shouldn't be politically minded one way or the other. The Bible should be his guide, not Das Capital.

So Catholics don't follow the Bible per se, but rather the Magisterium, which they would consider the Bible to be a part of. In their view, they wrote and compiled the New Testament, and the church itself predates it's existence.
