I just don't think she's a good actress.

I agree with American Horror Story, but not otherwise. It's like she wasn't really sure what emotions and feelings to display. At times, she was weirdly over-dramatic and then almost catatonic in others.
I don't think she's a bad actress so much as she approached that role poorly. It might've been the director's fault though. It certainly wouldn't be the first time. -

Watch Friday Night Lights. I hadn't seen her in anything before seeing FNL, and I thought at first I was going to hate her character, but she was absolutely brilliant. She's incredibly natural, and she brings so much depth to the role. Excellent chemistry with Eric Chandler as wellpossibly the most believeable married couple I've ever seen on TV. And it's a great show.
I've heard she's not as good in AHS, but it might be the direction and writing. Or maybe she just wasn't as into the role.

"Eric Chandler" !!!!!!! LMAO..
As for the acting ability of Connie,I have the same suggestion for the OP:go watch Friday Night Lights.I don't believe you'd still think she's a bad actress after watching that show.Honestly,I think she is THE best thing on FNL,well, besides Kyle Chandler of course.I'll never understand why she didn't win an Emmy for her performance on the show.Jessie

I agree completely. I started AHS yesterday and just finished watching s1 ep3. So much traumatic stuff has happened to her yet she remains in this monotone voice and always looks bored, even when they're attempting to kill her and her daughter. But maybe she's like that for a reason. Who knows
