I wonder if she held extreme right-wing views back in the day (c. 1985-1993) and just didn't express them fearing it could damage her reputation and career? Or did she swing harder to the right out of hating Obama, and now identifies with the bible-thumping Teabaggers? Maybe since she's not in the spotlight anymore, she just says whatever she wants without really thinking twice.
I'm just genuinely curious since it's such a surprising transformation. Back in the 80s/early 90s she seemed like a really cute and quirky sweet girl who wouldn't hurt a fly. Certainly not someone you'd expect to be an extreme right winger! SNL is a pretty left-leaning show, so I can't see her being this extreme back then and not clashing with the writers and co-stars! Even years later in 2004/05 she was on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club where they interviewed her parents and she admitted her dad's being tough on her as a kid hurt her feelings. Even that much later, she seemed the same as I remember, just a bit older but still cute, and I felt for her with what she was going through.
Then in like 2010 I was shocked to see her on Faux News hating on gay kids and Glee, and just complaining about how everybody's against Jesus and the industry is so immoral. It made the crush I had on her as a kid die out like a speeding bullet. I mean SNL wasn't family friendly either! She also did a comedy in '88 called Casual Sex and that was pretty dirty.
I just can't believe she'd do this turnaround for no reason. I'm sure there's SOME good things about her, but did she go through something in her life that made her turn this way now? I know her family is Christian, but did she reconnect with it recently and maybe is just going way overboard with it?
P.S. I'm not bashing Christians, just the extreme fundamentalists. I LOVE Weird Al and he's a Christian too, but he seems really chill, easygoing and nonviolent, certainly not at all the type who would stand for the things Vicki does now. They actually dated briefly and (at least as of his original VH1 Behind The Music in 1999) they were still good friends. I wonder what he thinks of her now.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Victoria was always conservative and just tried to keep it to herself more back da0in her "SNL" days. Now she probably figures her career is over and she doesn't care any more so she's just letting her freek flag fly.

Yeah considering how extreme she is, I'm tending to agree with you. Makes me wonder why she'd even choose to go into the entertainment industry in the first place (which is Liberal leaning). Especially comedy, which goes against everything most Conservatives like anyway.
Even if she's so uptight about gays (and with sex, period), she could at least be more like Kirk Cameron. I disagree with him, but at least he seems like a nice guy personally, and just calmly expressed his opinion without being hateful or mean.

Saying people are going to hell, "nicely", doesn't make it much better.

Kirk Cameron demanded that a lead female get fired from the show because she had posed nude for Playboy. He created publicity over her photos when there had been none, and possibly ruined her career. He also criticised her when he saw her reading science books, saying she'd burn in hell. He apologised for his "immaturity" years later, but still refused to talk to her after they later ran into each other. He got them to cast his real-life girlfriend in order to replace her. I understand that Alan Thicke (a genuinely nice guy) outright despised Kirk.

^ I forgot about how much of a nutjob Kirk was towards the end of Growing Pains. What right did he have to try and call the shots about a co-star of his, when it didn't have anything to do with work? He still doesn't seem as bad as Victoria, but he's at least somewhat of a narrow minded right wing prude. I really dislike what he said on Piers Morgan about how he wouldn't support one of his kids if they turned out gay.
But back to Victoria my original point last year was that, there's NO WAY she could've been THIS hardcore of a Christian right-winger back in the day without having it come up in some interview or getting in an argument with some of her co-stars. It had to be in more recent years that something changed her views.
I really liked her when I was a kid and thought she was so beautiful/hot and funny and a great actress, so it makes me sad to see her turn out this way. I might be able to be at least more understanding (though I'd still disagree with her) if she was open and honest about why she changed her waysor at least didn't phrase it in such a hateful close-minded way.

I know and I remember her being on a Hip-Hop oriented Nickelodeon show in the mid-noughties lool, this insanely far right mindset must've always been deep within her.

Malcolm X is far right and he was admired greatly in the early 90s.

He was admired by some in the early 90's, and admired by some in the 60's, and by some now. He's also hated by some.
Why do you say he was "greatly" admired in the 90's?

                        SNL isn't a left-leaning show.
                        It's a non-political, neutral show.
Most of the entertainment industry is.

Yeah, right. And the pope is non-denominational.
