Why the Nerd Rage against him?

I agree, he's a really cool guy. I loved him in Star Wars Episode I, Sleepy Hollow and X-Men. The fact he was cast as Snake Eyes made me very happy. I think that he's one of the factors that will save that movie. It was a match made in heaven when he was cast in G.I. Joe.
Now if only Hollywood would let him play the title role in that Iron Fist movie that's been in development hell. -

I've heard the reason why they never went along with Iron Fist was because there were just too many darn superhero movies to compete with (especially Spiderman, which turned out to be a smashing success); there was also the very good Batman reboot, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, you name it.

This post is brilliant! I first found out who Ray Park was after I saw PM. I loved his character and even had a Star Wars crush on Darth Maul and he didnt even really talk. I loved the character and was really pissed they killed him. I had to know who the actor was because I thought he was amazing! The fight scene when they first start to fight at the end when DM comes outomg my fav part! Ever since this movie I have been kind of obsessed with Ray Park. I would love to meet him. I too have heard how pleasant he is to meet. I cant wait to see GI Joe and snake eyes has always been my favorite!

I had no clue of this "nerd-rage" against Ray Park until just now. WOW! This is actually news for me. I've had a fan-girl crush on him since I saw him in Star Wars The Phantom Menace. I knew that wasn't his real voice and that it was dubbed over with another actor, which is fine with me cause Ray Park still did all the stunts.
I seriously don't see why people are so against him like that. Why are they saying he is a bad actor though? I honestly don't see how they can say that. Here is some bad acting with a only a few lines if they want to complain that bad
(my apologizes to the man who filmed/acted in this)
I may be the only person in the boards that actually has the movie Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever (lol). I didn't think it was THAT bad (forgive my sarcasm). Sure not the greatest movie ever made and they over-dramatized a lot (like the nicknames and soap opera situations with Banderas and Toto's characters)but I've seen worse acting in an "A-listed" movie. Ray Park's Ross character was one of the good things in that movie.
Forgive me, I tend to ramble in posts like these.
I grew up with G.I. Joe, so having Ray Park play my favorite character from that is a dream come true. I'm looking forward to seeing that movie big time. I think Ray Park playing Snake Eyes is the main reason for A LOT of people are thrilled to see the movie as well. I still don't want to wait over a week from today to see this movie! D:< (lol)
I'm a loyal fan of the show Heroes, and he was casted to play in this upcoming season. So you can only image my geekdom and fan-girl-ness having him play in one of my favourite shows. I look forward to what he can bring to the show, si2000nce the rating for Heroes went down in season III. I think casting him was a good choice and will probably help with the storyline and rating combine. At least I hope so.
How relevant this is or not, I'm not anything like an expert of martial arts, but I do know how to dance (a bit of latin and breakdancing), and I can only image how rough it would be to do that sort of skill for a movie/show. So I only wish that people would just shut up and stop complaining about Ray Park being from the UK and performing Wushu for the screen. The guy won medals for his skills, that's better than an Oscar in my opinion.
With all that said, yah, I'm a geek, a comic book nerd, a chick, a fangirl for Ray Park and I hope his career in the film industry continues for a long time. Okay, I'm done rambling. (lmao)

Well they dubbed his voice in Star Wars: TPM. But it was only like three lines. The rest was him acting quite effectively in a menacing manner without using his voice. He did more effectiveacting IMO then Hayden C did as Anakin. Now there's a guy who can't act and thus really hurt the prequels.

i had no idea their was nerd rage against Ray Park. that is so pathetic as a guy i think he is amazing and one of the only reasons i am actually going to go watch G.I. Joe. i think he is amazing and so does my friends. Even though he had only like seconds in Fanboys i was pumped to see him in it and thought his secs of screen time were funny as hell pulling out the night sticks and twilrling and everything that was sick. People who are mad at Ray Park should get over it he is way good and better than many he would make a better Batman than Bale i believe after reading that blog of someones. He is talented and you nerd ragers jsut get over yourself and stop being mad at a skilled person tht could beat you in less than 10 seconds flat with one hand as he is a very skilled martial artist

I agree. Ray Park's about average height, right? 5' 9" or so. Yet we actually have a bunch of tools out there saying that he's SHORT? Did these people NOT see The Phantom Menace? Darth Maul isn't short, and he wasn't wearing lifts either.
Like you said, Liam Neeson's a fairly tall dude. But the irony of it is that Ewan MacGregor had more side-by-side-with-Liam-Neeson screentime than Ray Park did. So where are all the nerds doodling up lame "Ewan MacGregor is short" webcomics?
It just doesn't sound fair, does it? Ray Park must have parked his car in some socially powerful, movie-reviewing super-nerd's reserved parking space or something. There's no other explanation.

people love to complain. you have to remember that the vast majority of his haters are fat, bespectacled goofs who can't even do a push up, so naturally when they see a thin, handsome man doing acrobatics they're going to be jealous, it's no big mystery, just classic envy. park has potential, i don't see him as batman, but that's a very specific role, the days of keaton or keaton-looking actors as the dark knight are over, christian bales' success has pretty much ensured that any future screen interpretations of batman will feature 6-foot plus actors with classically handsome looks. parks' martial arts prowess will serve him well though, mma has really brought public interest in the fighting arts to a fever pitch, and iron fist, or any similar film with a martial arts expert leading man, would be an ideal vehicle for park. it may be just a matter of him needing to be more selective, at 35 years old it's time to stop accepting roles as the go-to karate guy lurking in the background doing backflips. even snake eyes may have been a mistake, as popular as the character is, it was another silent warrior role, only adding to the public perception of park as a mute acrobat with no aptitude for dialogue.

It's good to see people who can think! Ray Park is awesome martial artist, as for his acting no one gave him the chance to act. I am sure he can do it. Just give him a good role, i mean leading role not just stunt double for stupid stars.
