personally i would say Andrew Niccol (Gattaca(his debut film in 1997)/Lord of War etc) beats a large chunk of that list overall as he's not failed me yet on the four films he's done as all four of his films are memorable with the best of the bunch being 'Lord of War' which is one of my all time favorite films.
but to make some comments on the article

1. Paul Thomas Anderson
   Best: There Will Be Blood
   Worst: None
   Best: There Will Be Blood
   Worst: Punch Drunk Love
2. Quentin Tarantino
   Best: Pulp Fiction
   Worst: Jackie Brown
   Best: Pulp Fiction/Reservoir Dogs (with Kill Bill vol1+2 being close)
   Worst: Death Proof (Inglourious Basterds was not much better)
3. David Fincher
   Best: Fight Club
   Worst: Alien 3
   Best: probably The Game/Se7en
   Worst: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
   p.s. i find him to be overrated in gen16d0eral to as even his best films are nothing TOO memorable.
4. Christopher Nolan
   Best: The Dark Knight
   Worst: None
   Best: The Dark Knight/The Prestige (those two are his most memorable films)
   Worst: Inception/Memento
5. Steven Soderbergh
   Best: Traffic
   Worst: Haywire
   Best: Oceans Eleven
   Worst: Contagion/Solaris
6. Jason Reitman
   Best: Up in the Air
   Worst: None
   Best: Thank You For Smoking/Up in the Air
   Worst: None
   he's not failed me yet as all four of his films i would say are memorable although those two there are the top of the four so far.
7. Ben Affleck
   Best: The Town
   Worst: None
   Agreed.
8. Sofia Coppola
   Best: Lost in Translation
   Worst: Marie Antoinette
   Best: NONE
   Worst: Marie Antoinette
9. Sam Mendes
   Best: American Beauty
   Worst: Away We Go
   Best: Road to Perdition (10/10, as that's easily his most memorable film. also, i expect 'Skyfall' (2012) (due Nov 2012) to slide into the 2nd position.)

10. Edgar Wright
    Best: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
    Worst: None
    Best: None

11. Darren Aronofsky
    Best: The Wrestler
    Worst: The Fountain
    Best: The Wrestler
    Worst: everything else
    i find Aronofsky to be quite overrated overall.
12. Joe Carnahan
    Best: The Grey
    Worst: The A-Team
    Agreed.
