She wasn't thinking enough about her future when she chose not to return to Lost. She had one of the top two mysteries of the show. Now it won't get resolved because she got all touchy about her character getting killed off.
Cynthia, if you ever read this, a lot of people have lost all respect for you. You can't redeem yourself unless you commit to at least one more episode of Lost for season 6. I'm sure that's all it would take, and would be worth it in the long run.
If you can't even do that, well, read the thread title.

yeah, but, isn't panda posting on internet boards, too?
you can't use being an internet nerd against someone when you yourself are one. i think there's a saying about that something about pots or kettles or something.
besides, i'm kind of disappointed in her too. she's a really good actress and a sexy lady and i REALLY wish she would come back as libby. if it's prior commitments, that's one thing and all is forgiven. but if it's pride, or anger at having her character killed off too soon, that's just foolish. 5b4lost is going to go down in history as one of the greatest shows of all time, and will be watched for the next fifty years, if not more. and to not be a part of it's last season as one of the show's more iconic characters? that would be a shame.
plus, i just want to know what the hell was up with libby! -

First of all, you are basing things on what Lindelof said. They have blamed an actress for their mistake before and they got called on it. Second, Lost is not the be all end all of film/television work in Hollywood. If she did in fact turn down another guest appearance, it's her right. Remember, one has to go to Hawaii.
The obvious reason it's ridiculous to say that she "got all touchy about her character getting killed off" is that she DID return two years later to film for the show. This is after they killed her character off. -

you know what's funny? i read this ten minutes ago, saw your username, wondered what it was about, if it was a Lost reference (i've only seen the first 2 seasons) left the board, started watching the premiere of season 3 and BAM, within the first 5 minutes juliet burns her muffins and everything made sense!

Seriously people? She came back to Lost for a guest appearance in season 4 (Meet Kevin Johnson) and they did nothing with her. She has to make a living and doing 30 second guest appearances in Lost isn't going to help her career at all or pay the bills. Maybe she's just busy with other things and couldn't commit to coming back for an extended cameo. Damon and Carlton have even said that her backstory isn't even all that interesting or integral to the show. I'd rather have them moving the plot forward then spending every episode explaining things like where Jack got his tattoos, that ultimately add little to the show.
here is a link of Damon and Carlton talking about it a little:
