Is Elena and Caroline selfish?

Elena did Sacrificed Human Katherine in exchange for the chance to bring Bonnie back from the dead.
Remember when Elena just watch Damon fed Human Katherine to Silas .
Katherine has always been untrustworthy and naughty person , but she was a human and at that moment she was almost harmless to anyone.
But Elena let Damon murder human Katherine for the chance to bring Bonnie back from the Dead.
Katherine survived that incident ( the Cure was drain from her , but her heart restarted ), but that wasn't the point .
Like Stefan and Damon entrapping people to fail Cade's test .
If that was Cade's test on morality , Elena had failed it .
Was Elena selfish to sacrifices a live Human for the chance to resurrect a dead person ?
Katherine did a lot of terrible and selfish thing , but she did it for her own survival .
On the other hand Elena did a terrible thing for the chance to bring her dead friend back .
Was that selfish ? -

You're splitting hairs trying to find a non selfish character in this show. The least among the characters is Matt the girls Bonnie but theyve all made really bad decisions for self. Elena and Caroline have both been on "switch flipped" killing sprees which garuntees them both a special place in hell I'll tell you that. Bonnie has given and sacrificed more than all of them including but not limited to her well founded beliefs about vampires.

I disagree because Elena didn't choose to turn her humanity off. Damon used the sire bond to make her. Unklike Caroline, Damon, Stefanthey all choose to turn it off.Bonnie didn't sacrifice more than Elena

Elena's humanity was on when she watch and let Damon fed Human Katherine to Silas .
Elena just can not claim the sainthood after she let Damon did the dirty work for her .
Elena did nothing to stop Damon murdered a human being right in front of her , because she wants Silas to resurrect her friend Bonnie .
Damon and Stefan entrapped a lot human to fail the test for Cade .
Nobody entrapped Elena when she and Damon made the decision to murder human Katherine for her own selfish goals. -

no no, I meant when she turned it off in season 4(?) was it after Jeremy died? She culdnt take any more loose and she turned it off ? Did she choose to do it or Damon forced her to do?

It was when Jeremy died and she fell apart, broke and Damon used the sire bond to make her turn it off telling her"turn it off, this is what I want you to do".She didn't choose to. But once she did, the sire bond was broken.

or one No one, including Elena, claims that she's perfect but she sure doesn't deserve hell
For two.after what Katherine did to Elena,and everyone Elena loved, I can totally understand Elena choosing to save her best friend over Katherine.
So if in your head Elena deserves hell for it, think again. -

I dont know about selfish per se but I think Caroline was shallow from get go, Elena artifical, too goody good.
But I am sure Bonnie is selfless person on the show except for one time for which she will pay for ever from fans and the characters.

Bonnie's one selfish moment will guarantee her hate forever. It doesn't matter if it's weighed against the numerous times her friends have been selfish over the years. But then again, Bonnie, up until this point at least, was written to serve these people, so for her to finally think about herself might come across as "ungrateful" or "selfish".
I'm sorry, but anyone who comes to the conclusion that Bonnie's choice to be selfish for once even compares to her "friends" can kick rocks.

What about that time , when Bonnie helped Silas to open the Expression Triangle .It almost kill a lot of people .
Bonnie was warned by many people about the danger of Silas , and she open the Tomb of Silas , and then for ananother selfish reson she helped Silias open the veil to the other side , for a brief period a lot of angry ghost from the other side were release .
Bonnie had disregarded the safety of the Entire World , when she helped Silas , because she wanted to bring Jeremy back from the dead . -

Silas needed to open an Expression Triangle , he needed to sacrifices 12 human , 12 vampire and 12 Witches.
12 witches was sent by bonnie Mother to purge Bonnie's evil Expression magic ,but they decided Bonnie was too dangerous and beyond help , the witches was going to kill Bonnie , but Caroline saved Bonnie , but they were all linked to gether , Caroline kill one , but led to the death of all 12 witches . -

Shane was working for Silas.
Silas wanted to die in peace , he didn't want to go to struck on the other side with Qetsiyah .
He wanted to use the Expression Triangle to destroy the barrier between the real world and the other side , then takes the cure and die in peace . -

After Jeremy died? When she was completely consumed by a deadly form of magic? The same magic that caused her to set her living room on fire while dreaming, and when she told Caroline, her only worry was her prom dress?
No one paid any attention to Bonnie that season, even though she was the most powerful being walking around, brainwashed and willing to drop the veil, which could've been catastrophic, she still wasn't a priority.
This was one of the only times that Bonnie was clearly being selfish, where she thought of she and Enzo's happiness above everyone else.
