Representation of teenagers in 'teen films'

No one mentioned the first American Pie, and while I perfectly understand why (it is exaggerated and highly stereotypical), I still think that it has some interesting and sort of accurate elements. I wouldn't use it as a guide to understand how teens think and behaves, but if you don't take it too seriously and understand that it's a bit of a satire, it has something.
I actually could relate to many elements from it based on my personal experience in high school, and many people I know do as well. Teenage years are a time of confusion, discovery of ourselves, desire to reach adulthood and a time to have fun (I don't necessarily mean partying every weekends) before having too much responsibilities.
The first American Pie pokes fun at all these elements, in a way. It's not the "to go" teen movie but deserves a mention nevertheless.
