That Rainsford continues hunting people in place of general Zaroff?

I realize that taking over Zaroff's bed might seem to imply that Rainsford also took over Zaroff's obsession but I think it only means that Rainsford got his revenge. He won. Zaroff was hoist on his own petard, so to speak.
The movies are the only business where you can go out front and applaud yourself.
