When I saw this movie stoned, just looking at the piano player in the soda shop. But, the pedestrian getting run over was hilarious whether stoned or not.

Well there was the very beginning when weed was said to be worse than coke and heroin and also the comment brought up by mrflawless.

The funniest parts for me were all of the scenes showing the blonde guy (Jack, I think) getting high. He looked like a complete nutjob, all wild eyed and laughing uncontrollably!

The funniest part for me was when the jury foreman stared at the swinging lamp string, and it becomes a swinging noose.

This was one of my favorite lines:
Bureau Official: Here is an example: A fifteen-year-old lad apprehended in the act of staging a holdup - fifteen years old and a marijuana addict. Here is a most tragic case.
Dr. Carroll: Yes. I remember. Just a young boy under the influence of drugs who killed his entire family with an axe.

Another hilarious moment is when police cars, motorcycles and paddy wagons come POURING out into the street because somebody smoked dope.

That was awsome but I think the best part was when she is screaming and then starts laughing hysterically (while Ralph is killing Jack)

It was when that guy smoking was driving, and the other man says, "Watch out! you'll kill someone!" when he's only driving 50 mph. Then he runs over the man walking. It was so ridiculous.

In that same scene, the woman runs down the hallway and dives at the window. When they pick up the shot from the other side, she's standing on the ledge with the broken window behind her then jumps. So that dive through the glass only landed her 6 inches away?
Some friends of mine got the rights to do a parody a few years ago and there's some clips posted on You Tube. They dubbed their own voices over the original soundtrack. It's pretty funny. If you get a chance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD_IdRjquGA

                            Play faster! Faster!
And the pianist is sped up (camera under cranked), puffing madly on a joint with a maniacal look and smoke pouring out of her.
Laughed my ass off. ( and it's still off.)

The one scene that I thought was funny, even though it puzzled me, was when one guy offers to buy another guy a soda pop. He answers "oh, no I don't go in for that, but I might let you buy me a root beer!
My only question is aren't soda pop and root beer the same thing? Also, why do they use the term soda pop as if there is only one kind? don't they have more then one flavor of pop in the '30's??

I wondered the same thing, altair. Anyone that could help clear up this root beer-soda conundrum, please do so.
As for funniest moment, everyone's pretty much spot on with what they've already said. My vote goes to either Ralph's incessant laughing/paranoia or to "Faster, faster!" Come to think of it, he was pretty much my favorite part of the movie altogether.

I know it's been a while but I think when the kid offered to buy the other guy a soda he meant an ice cream soda, not a soda pop. I think the vernacular "soda pop" was used mostly to differentiate the two but it's used less often now since you can rarely find an ice cream soda nowadays. I hope that clears it up

"Personally, I love the line about the kid who killed his entire family with an axbecause he was addicted to marijuana. 🙂 haha"
That one made me laugh out loud.
I thought the opening letter was pretty funny too, talking about how marijuana makes a person hallucinate and prone to violence and hornyness.
I've never smoked dope, but as far as I can tell, it just makes you giggly and hungry, lol.
It does some other stuff too, but nothing like what this movie would lead one to believe.
