Why doesn't Taylor realize he's on earth when the apes are speaking perfect English
They're not speaking English. He's lip reading. The "English" is just dubbed in.

I have seen this film numerous times - even in the theater when I was a small child (drive-thru, a cheap babysitter in those days!) anyway, last night I saw again, it in an actual theater TCM was showing it in several theaters throughout the country. They showed the scene you referenced and until a gentleman in the theater laughed, I had no idea what was so funny - I can't believe I missed it! It's hysterical!! Lol.

There's electricity for lighting apparently as well as running water, but where does it come from? The houses and buildings seen like something from The Flintstones.

With regard to shaving I like how his ladypiece is fascinated by him shaving, whilst being waxed and preened to within an inch of her life.

Similar to Zira's astonishment at Taylor using an old blanket as clothing, when the wild humans are all wearing various types of rags and animal skins.

You would think they wouldn't let their stuff be unguarded when they found water.

In their defense, they were there for days with apparently vegetation as the planet's only form of life.
