According to Wikipedia, it was a stroke.
But where did they get that from?
Did they ever say that on Archie Bunker's Place?
And even if it was, was it caused by the phlebitis?
Are we supposed to be led to believe that the last time we saw her in bed with Archie when she calls him a pip, she died soon after that?
Let me know if I'm on your ignore list.

This question was previously asked. I'll give the exact same response:
Edith NEVER died in the
All In The Family
series. In the actual last episode, she did wind up having a blood clot on her leg that she thought was just a minor bruise, but she still was able to live through the entire series. I use to think that she did die there and
Archie Bunker's Place
began right after she died, but I was way off on that. She did appear on five episodes of the first season and showing no signs of any illness with no mentions of any blood clots. It was the beginning of the second season where she died. The episodes, a two part, was called
Archie Alone.
It took place about a month after her passing. It was mentioned that she died of, I believe, a stroke while she was asleep. The two part-er was basically Archie trying to come to terms with her passing
Seems like I've been here before,
Fuzzy then and still so obscure-

So the phlebitis/blood clot was not related to the stroke?
It very well could have caused her death, but that was not part of the story line. There is much debate on whether Mario Lanza's phlebitis caused his death. A blood clot caused my mothers death as it lead to a fatal heart attack at age 82. Blood clots can cause either a heart attack or a stroke. The probablity of dying from either increases with age or factors like obesity in Lanza's case.
Sorry there are no live ones here to respond to.

Got to see my son's new house before it was furnished. Wife and three kids will be moving in about a week. He has a great new job with six-figure potential.
