I would certainly suggest Inland Empire, and other Lynch films.
There's a film called The Church by Michele Soavi which has a similar copulation scene - in this case with the Devil. In which case, I would say Rosemary's Baby is also relevant, and it has the same sense of derangement at times in the female lead
Possession also reminded me of a lot of Dario Argento's work, and I certainly agree that Hellraiser and several of Cronenberg's films would be worth watching -

Holy beep naked lunch!! that is a trip and a half!
I found the film hilarious, but it is of a sinister nature but then again I found possession to be even more hilarious from scene to scene.
Anyway, Cronenberg is the master, so this conversation is over -

The above is an excellent reccommendation. If you enjoy dark / macabre and hysterical cinema, The Tenant is a superb choice. Isabelle Adjani also features as a pivotal (if somewhat mysterious) role in the film.

Lamberto Bavas "Macabro" is surprisingly simillar to this one, though not nearly as surreal and artsy.
The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress
