I watched it as a kid with my mom and loved it. I watched it during Covid and still liked it, but bailed about a season or two into Rebecca's run. I watch it on Pluto when I need something on in the background.
It's not a bad show by any means, but becoming the phenomenon it did is insane. It makes me chuckle, but there's
a lot
of jokes that aren't funny and you can tell they're meant to be a big laugh. They put a lot of effort into things that just weren't that funny.
Fraiser is a significantly funnier show. -

Humor is subjective.
Maybe you’re getting burned out on it as I do from watching too many repeats of it.
Having it on once a night might be tolerable but to have two episodes on back to back every night on a loop is too much.

It's completely relevant. If you're going to say Cheers shouldn't have won so many awards then you are suggesting there were comedy shows during its run that were better but you didn't list a single one.

Curb your Enthusiasm
Eastbound and Down
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Barry
South Park
^^^ all good shows, but I wouldn’t say they are miles ahead of anything else. Comedy doesn’t reach the heights of drama based shows. -

I could not wait for Diane to leave, she was so irritating but then I also gave up a couple of seasons into Rebecca's run. I found the Robin Colcord storyline so annoying I couldn't watch it anymore.
From a funny point of view I think Cliff and Carla had some of the best exchanges with Frasier and Norm, Woody (and Coach previous to that) doing great work in the wings.
You stupid fuckers, you know who you are.
