If you havent seen this movie please dont read this post.
Ok, not really a Spoiler, but more like a nitpick. After Valerie Harper flees the house, realizing that her daughter Mary murdered dad, as well as Kevin and grandma, what does Mary do? Just sit around waiting for the cops to come take her away? I mean this is what I pictured: After Valarie drives off, leaving Mary behind, Mary shuts the front door. (insert commercial here) Mary sits at the dinner table, eating the pizza, and in comes the police, arresting her, taking her away to the psyche hospital.
I still liked this movie, and Ive been watching clips of this on Youtube.com, while waiting for a proper DVD release.
What are you waiting for, Anchor Bay?

What is Mary supposed to do? She's a little kid, she doesn't have the know-how or the resources to go on the run from the law.
Let's compare with the battle near the end of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". You have two pre-teen boys leading an army against a horde of monsters. That's not realistic.
What happens to Mary is what actually WOULD happen to a child in that situation.

Never thought of that. Besides I was kinda tipsy when I wrote that post. How silly is that.
I guess until this gets a proper DVD release, we only have the clips on Youtube.com to enjoy.
        HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY!

On the forums I frequently visit, it seems to happen quite often.
I haven't seen DGTS on TV for around fifteen years. I am very much looking forward to a DVD release.

OMG! 15 years? I havent seen it in 18 years!
Its a shame Kristen Cummings and Robin Ignico aren't acting anymore. They were soooooooo awesome in this movie.
Its also sad that Dennis Weaver and Ruth Gordon aren't with us anymore. they were good actors, especcially in DGTS.
And this much talked about redux that unfortunatly is on hiatus for now, I cant wait to see what thatll be like.
            HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY!

I've wondered about this. Just a nit picky thing. Since when do you bring pizza home from a pizza parlor and YOU have to cut it into pieces??

Exactly. I just got a pizza now, and it's perfectly cut.

Yessssss, I was thinking this same thing. The only time I use a pizza cutter is when I heat up a frozen pizza. Was there ever a time waaaaaay in the past when pizza places did NOT cut the pizza for you? In this movie it would have easily worked for the mother to have been heating up a pizza at home.

Even then pizza places cut up your pizza for you. But that pizza cutter scene was creepy as hell!

Well, I've bought from parlors and it has always been cut into pieces, however, sometimes they are only partial cuts that don't go all the way through the dough; a number of times I've had to re-cut where the slices were when I brought it home. Occasionally I also cut a large slice into two smaller onesso it's plausible.

I thought about that too, but I noticed it had different toppings in different areas (it was either half and half, or half and 1/4, 1/4) and it's possible they may not have cut it for that reason.
Or they just needed a reason to give a kid a ludicrously sharp pizza cutter. Either works. 😉

Yea, that was likely the reason. They wanted an excuse for that disturbing scene when Mary goes ballistic on the pizza, showing the viewer that she's finally snapped! Very original and spooky moment.
