While a pioneer in slashers, the original Halloween and Michael are quite bland.
There was really nothing more to do with that story (not that it stopped them), and I think the plan was always for it to be an anthology of films.
Original story. Inconic imagery, but the viewing public is simple minded.

Danielle Harris makes 4 and 5 worthwhile. Added an interesting angle to the story. Liked it more than the first 2, but 3 is the best for me.

First is overrated. It deserves credit for the groundwork it laid, but other slashers improved upon it.

This doesn't belong in the series. It never did. It stands on it's own as a great movie for the Halloween season. Forget the franchise. It should have simply been Season of the Witch.
In my opinion, it's it's better than the slasher Halloween series.

Halloween was conceived as an anthology bases aroundthe Halloween season. Was never meant to be all Michael. Plus, it jumped the shark when Michael became supernatural.
It fits the original concept.
