How did the character Barnabas Collins become a vampire in the first place ? Just started watching this show in marathons on the Chiller channel and it's a really great series so far
. I definitely like spoilers it gives me a better idea of the storyline altogether

Angelique, with whom he had an affair while engaged to Josette, was a witch. When he spurned her advances and told her he was no longer interested, she put a curse on him and he became a vampire.

. I actually did catch that episode several weeks ago on another CHILLER channel marathon ( and there is another marathon on this same channel today too
) . Awesome show , wonderful all-star cast , mysteriously entertaining , and a solid storyline too IMPO

I have a question, the spell that Angelique used on Josette and Jeremiah, did she know it would work, and was it used for messing with their feelings/minds or unleash their repressed forbidden feelings they had for each other since they met and Angelique knew or had some idea about them?

Good question; I think the answer is a combination of both. Josette and Jeremiah were both very attractive, and he was a lot younger and probably more virile than Barnabus. But remember that Angelique was a very prolific witch, who probably had no doubts about her ability to use this spell.
