Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

    BoogieKnight — 18 years ago(March 01, 2008 03:28 AM)

I think it's definately a fair question, The Old Man is dead, JImmy, Jack, and Jose are dead, Lulu is a widow and the bar is trashed, plus Marlboro gets shot twice in the same arm. Harley leaves town and Marlboro does who knows what. Yet they basically give it a happy ending.
Sure the drug running scumbags would have taken over and pushed more drugs into the world, but all these guys wanted to do was save their bar, certainly not get killed trying to stop the drug flow into the country. Wouldn't they have just been better off doing something else and ditching the bar in the first place? Ah well, sorry to be a big ol bring-down.

Ah, hindsight is a wonderful thing 🙂
The Gunslinger smiled. "On the way to the Dark Tower," he said, "anything is possible."

Well considering most of them would still be alive, they would've definitely been better off not robbing the armored car.

Better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool. 🙂

They didn't have the greatest robbery sense in the world, they left the tracker in the suitcase and that left them out in the open to be tracked. They didn't even stop to look for it. Plus they asked for the exact amount of the money owed, which would have gave them away when they payed it back to the bank. If they asked for $3,000,001 instead of $2,500,000 they might have gotten away. Might's a big word in this case.
It wasn't thought out very well to say the least.
