I thought he was GREAT. He didn't have a lot of lines but he didn't need them. Just the way he carried himself and looked was enough to make him seem very intimidating and a super badass.

Butch is intelligent enough to act, I think, but I can't see a good role for him. Dickey would be a terror on set, but he would do great in a character role. Think Dennis Hopper from Easy Rider. I can see Dickey being the voice of wisdom in some southern film. I wish Billy Bob Thornton would make another movie like Sling Blade and throw one of Allman Brothers in it.

Well, being an Allman Bros fanatic during much of the 70s, I was very interested in seeing him in this movie - and I thought he did a good job, even though he didn't have much in the way of lines. When watching him, I forget about his musical career and see his character. He has presence - wonder why he didn't act more?

Actually no on the snitch part Allman's character never snitched on anyone. In fact he NEVER even mentioned drugs nor admitted to having any drugs. As far as him in real life, that's something I know very little about other than he was the brother of a fellow band member in The Allman Bros. Band, he married Cher, and he was really hot lol
