When Captain Ron says "We're gonna fu*kin die!", also the discussion about the pirates is just too good:
Martin- We are not having guns on this boat!
Ben- Dad, we have to be able to fight off the pirates.
Captain Ron- Yeah boss, if we don't ya know they could steal the boat!
Just the way he said that was hillarious.
Also, Craig Rondell's appearance. He played Caroline's fiance, also the reason I decided to rediscover this film again. Strange reason I know, but he's the singer of my favorite band, I thought his part was hysterical, though it was short. -

This movie is full of great scenes, most courtesy of Kurt Russell. One that I didn't notice being mentioned was the priceless look of desperate urgency as Capt. Ron tried to coax Ben into a "high stakes" Monopoly game.Cracks me up just thinking about it.

how can one choose? it's like asking a mother to name her favorite child
yes, yes, i'm kidding
i'll pick one no one else will. where martin is on the phone trying
to talk to the boat broker, and that intense lookin dude is just
staring at him, inches from his face
i know, can you believe i think that's hilarious? ya gotta really
look at the guy it was understated genius. -

Hard to choose, as I laugh throughout the movie, but I'm partial to the storm sequence when the compass goes flying off, and then when they spot land and Russel gives Short that look while Short is narrating that Captain Ron has proved more cunning than originally thought.

I like the part where he's tying the bricks or whatever to the kids feet, and is getting ready to throw him overboard to look for something.

"When Captain Ron is asleep with his eye patch covering his good eye and they think he is dead."
I also laughed loudly (and my husband repeatedly rewound) the part
at the Mardi-Gras/Carnivale, when Capt Rob looses his eye, and you
see it bouncing toward you - (almost 3-D)
