vincentsteely, it wasn't Davis in old-age makeup. In fact, the elderly characters were all played by lookalikes. Old Dottie was played by Lynn Cartwright, a character actress who worked steadily on television for 37 years. (
A League of Their Own
was her last acting gig.) Sadly, she passed away ten years ago. The reason why she looked to be lip-synching is because her dialog was dubbed by Geena herself in post-production. Davis said in the making of documentary "Nine Memorable Innings" (found in the Special Edition DVD) that Lynn spoke too fast, so she had trouble trying to match Lynn's lip movements.

I thought the comment was a humorous attempt to tell the poster: don't be so lazy, look it up yourself. How many times have you seen "How old is so-and-so?" or "Who played the role of ?" If you are tech savvy enough to get to the IMDB in the first place, then why ask the board for help on such readily available stuff? Sorry. I don't think the OP was being an ass.
BTW, I laughed out loud when I saw your username. I suppose it means you are a marvelous lass, but you can see the other connotation, I hope. It's like another Tom Hanks film, That Thing You Do. The group is named "The Oneders," as in "One-ders / Wonders", get it? But people keep calling them the Oh-needers. LOL! So, you are Marvel-Ass, until otherwise corrected. Personally, I don't mind people trying to tell other people to look it up themselves, but it is a useless waste of time. People are who they will be.

, as well as a corruption of
marvelous
. My first name is Marvin, so I was called "Marvelous Marvin" or simply "Marvelous" growing up, but it wasn't until after high school that "Marvelous" morphed into "Marvelass" because of my ample bottom. I came out in college and my new gay friends said my ass was a marvel.

I thought that same thing too. It definitely looked like her and of course sounded like her. I was disappointed to see another actresses name for that credit. But if it had really been her I'm sure it would have been exposed by now.
