And he wasn't even certain that the gun was empty. Why did he shoot him in the head? The gun was empty by chance. Why did he risk killing him?

He secretly didn't like him and wanted another partner.

To me, the gun wasn't empty by chance. A clever bad guy wouldn't want his new business partner to have a murder on his hands the day they start making business, especially as he isn't a killer. It wouldn't be professional. I think Frank may have thought the same thing.

        • Booker, are you afraid of God ?
        • No. But I'm afraid of you.

But Frank was not a bad guy.

Frank cannot possibly know whether the gun was empty for sure. But if the gun really had bullets in it, he would have to do it anyway. Because If he don't, they will. And it will kill both of them.

He kills and arrests the bad guys afterwards anyway.

So if Frank didn't risk Al's life, they would have killed Frank and Al am I right? In that case why wouldn't Frank just shoot the bad guys in self defense?

Because if the gun was empty he would have given himself away and they'd both have been shot anyway, the option of the gun being empty was always there so he didn't know.
