      That's another movie that stays with you. Has a very oppressed and claustrophobic feel to it.
      I read the book when it first came out, and of course, the book is a heavy read, but the movie was good too.

        I might possibly be flamed by this - but I think "The Butterfly Effect" captures this atmosphere w/ flashbacks, mood, etc (even to some part the abuse).
