Vaccine Passports

We already require proof of vaccinations for schools and entrance into the country. Why should I have to worry about getting sick just because you are afraid of a shot?
Read my post again.
I said I was against the Vaccine Passport, not the shot.
I have already taken the first shot and am scheduled to take the second in a couple of weeks.

As I previously stated, people who refuse the vaccine cause the virus to spread and mutate among themselves until it mutates into a strain not protected by our current vaccine. Thus, putting us all at risk again.

I had high hopes for this vector of attack, but you've hugely disappointed.
Vaccine certificates/passports are an invasion of privacy. Wearing clothes are a protection of privacy.

It's not an ad hominem if it is an actually true observation of reality and not merely an insult.
Your position is simply childish and impossible to defend using reason–it is also an example of something very recent in history. Irrational nuts like you who won't cooperate like adults have always, unfortunately, been a vile stain within society. But for most of history, the majority of adults have seen vaccine passports as a ticket to freedom and a pathway out of pandemic. That is the mature take.
That so many of you ****wits are around these days is merely an indication of how infantilized right wing culture has become. It wasn't always thus. -

So, still you have nothing. You've said nothing to defend vaccine passports, all you've done is call those who oppose them names.
And you accuse me of being childish?
For all my life, I've never had to show anybody my papers to buy a newspaper, or go grocery shopping. Restaurants simply required a name to make a reservation, never caring if it was even legit.
The onus is on the authoritarian to explain why they now need to know who I am. The onus is on them to explain why I have to have a rushed vaccine if I want to earn a wage, feed myself, or meet up with friends and family in a place of leisure.
I find it bizarre that people cannot see the precedent this sets and the very serious need to reject it wholeheartedly.

For all your life, there was no pandemic and so no need. My god, you are really one of the dumbest people around here.
The onus is on the authoritarian to explain why they now need to know who I am. The onus is on them to explain why I have to have a rushed vaccine if I want to earn a wage, feed myself, or meet up with friends and family in a place of leisure.
The answer is simple (to slow the spread of disease and save human lives), but you are so fundamentally stupid and in the grip of a relatively new and dangerous ideology that you'll never accept it.
I find it bizarre that people cannot see the precedent this sets and the very serious need to reject it wholeheartedly.
The precedent has been set and in place for centuries, ****wit–and guess what? No harm to actual, real freedoms was ever caused.
If I run a business like a bar or restaurant where a large number of people gather during a pandemic, I want to protect my customers and my employees from the spread of disease and a vaccine passport backed by the state is an excellent tool to advance my interests. On a fundamental level it gives all of us more freedom–genuine freedom.
If it has the added benefit of keeping worthless pieces of **** like you out of my space, that's an additional win. -

How worthless is your life that you have to come to an anonymous message board to shout and scream at people? A real man would find somebody to **** and/or take up martial arts, if he had that much rage coursing through his body. I hope for your sake you're a woman who only visits this place once a month to unload her pre-menstral tension. I could admire that.
I bet you're "anti-hate", right?
Being comfortable with hypocrisy appears to be a fundamental requirement of being a left wing thinker.
You make it sound like Ebola is on the streets. This is the flu. Flus have been around throughout human history. You should get some perspective.
If the vaccine is so effective, why should the vaccinated care that I am unvaccinated?
The simple truth is, if the virus was so severe that its danger outweighed the risk of the vaccine, people would get vaccinated. Coming up with manipulative ways to force everyone to have it looks manipulative… I might have taken the vaccine if I wasn't being threatened to do so.
Vaccine passports take away people's right to make their own risk assessment about their own life.
It's a privacy issue - nobody should have to know who you are when you go out shopping, or to a bar - but more importantly, it's an affront to liberty, and takes away our right to decide what happens to our own bodies.

This little flu has already killed over half a million people dipshit. How severe do you want us to let it get before we do something? If it wasn't for the 50% of us being responsible we would already be up **** creek. Viruses Mutate! The more people that have it the more it mutates. For **** sakes take a science course.

Like I said, you love your slavery. You'd rather be safe than free.
Let's say everyone in the US gets the vaccine. No mutations happen here.
However, somebody from Asia flies in with a mutation that developed in Indonesia. What then?
Let's say somebody walks through Central America and picks up a mutation there before swimming the Rio Grande. What then?
Are you advocating we close the borders forever? I could respect your intellect more if you said you were. You can't take that position though, because "racist". You see where your logic takes you?
Stop buying their nonsense. Start thinking with your head instead of your heart.

I agree with you on principle, but the COVID vaccine is different in that it was rushed, does not have any studies whatsoever done on any long-term side effects or even on long-term efficacy, and is thus unpredictable in ways that rightfully make people wary.
Refusing to get the COVID vaccine is not the same as being patently stupid enough to refuse a well-documented vaccine that is proven to work with little-to-no risk (either short-term or long-term) to the person receiving it.
I have gotten the first dose of the vaccine and will be getting the second soon, so I'm not speaking on behalf of those who refuse to get it, and wouldn't presume to do so. I just understand the desire to hold out on a brand new vaccine that has yet to even be approved by the FDA (outside, obviously, of authorization for emergency use).
Requiring vaccine passports for international travel or for concerts is one thing, as such isn't usually necessary, but requiring them for something as simple as going to the store or to the doctor seems ethically dubious.

I don't think they should be required everywhere. Just places like bars and certain events. The anti-mask crowd wanted people to stay home if they were afraid of catching the virus during the shutdowns. I think it's time they stayed home if they are afraid of the vaccine now that we want to open things up. fair is fair.
