Why are people calling the sex scene rape?

yuhno, if I was a person who had actually experienced being raped, I might be offended by someone calling this a rape scene. The cliche "I felt raped." (and I've heard men use it too) gets applied to everything from an inappropriate sexual remark to getting a speeding ticket from a cop. Ridiculous! Selfish insensitive cad does not = rapist.

I agree with you completely, jghitchins. He was "selfish, self-centered" since it appeared he only wanted to get off and didn't seem to care whether she got any pleasure out of it. If you agree to have sex with a guy and he turns out to be too rough or uncaring then you chalk it up to bad sex but NOT rape.

It appears that folks who have been arguing this sex scene was rape have barely finished secondary. Or maybe they're a bunch of ugly fat vile unhappy dykes who know they'll never get a di(k.

The commenters calling it rape or borderline rape are racists. Black man having sex with white girl = rape in the mind of the racist. But the fact is, after the sex, Grace is seen smiling with Timothy's arm over her as he sleeps. She only got out of bed when she heard the disturbance outside. At no time was she being held against her will. And it looked pretty much like she experienced an orgasm. But the racist mind can't accept that a beautiful white woman would enjoy sex with a black man, although the oppositewhite man on black woman, usually rapingwas very widespread.
