I watched a few episodes of this show the other day, and one of them was an episode from the last couple seasons with Ashton Kutcher. They made Jake into a stupid stoner. I couldn't believe it… they had him sitting next to a bong acting all retarded in an episode.
I liked the Jake character. He was a goofy kid you rooted for…. not some teenage faggy stoner.
Ugh. This show turned into filth. -

it was crap that last season that sheen was in as well. They changed alans character from a struggling single father dominated by his mean ex-wife who was bleeding him dry to a perverted cheapskate and mooch, who would steal from people.

The actor playing Jake probably enjoyed making his character look like a fool.
Assuming Jake was a young adult at that point in the series, it's fair to say to many people at his age would be at the most apathetic point in their lives, not really taking care of themselves and making bad choices.
Even though he became a parody of himself, Jake is still the more believable person on the show. Alan on the other hand… the man became a lunatic!
