I get that, and that's the kind of accent I imagine. I should clarify that I'm British and have only met a handful of Americans in my life, so although I know there's different accents for different states, I do just tend to think of a generic 'American' accent whenever I imagine Reacher speaking. Like you said, with Jackman playing Wolverine, that's the kind of accent I imagine, just 'American'.

How old is he (in the books)? I thought of Dolph Lundgren when his character was described as 6'5" 230 lbs and blond.
He would be perfect to play the part, in his prime, I'd say.

Totally agree - Chris Hemsworth in about 5 years time. That gives enough for a reboot and by then he'll be/look old enough.
Chris is 6ft 3in, very built and often has dark blonde hair. So very similar to Reacher's 6ft 5in (Chris could use lifts in his shoes) 250 pounds with blue eyes and dark blonde hair.
